Fans of Britain’s most dashing secret agent are in for a real treat this Fall. In advance of the November 6 release of SPECTRE, MGM Studios and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment are releasing special edition Blu-rays, DVDs, and collectible box-sets on September 15.

Two new featurettes will be included among the bundle of collectibles, both of which are based on interviews with famed Bond screenplay writers Robert Wade and Neal Purvis. One will detail the history of SPECTRE (The Shadow of SPECTRE), while the other will recap the backstory of the Daniel Craig-era James Bond films (The Story so Far).

Also dropping on September 15 are limited edition Steelbook Blu-rays aimed at home entertainment enthusiasts. The collectible set includes six films that feature the shadowy SPECTRE organization that gives the upcoming film its name (including From Russia With LoveThunderball, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Diamonds Are Forever, and For Your Eyes Only), along with the series’ three most recent entries (Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Skyfall). Each Blu-ray features metal packaging with imagery inspired by the films’ iconic opening title sequences.

Those looking for the definitive Bond box-set will want to grab The Ultimate James Bond Collection, which features all 23 of 007’s risky/risque adventures in one bundle. The set even leaves a 24th slot open for SPECTRE when it hits small screens, and also provides digital copies of each film in the series.

Dedicated Actor Packs with new packaging will also be released on Blu-ray & DVD. The packs feature the films of Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig respectively.

Of course, we may soon have a new entry in that elite group. Craig is only signed on for one more film as the iconic sharp-dressed spy and bookies are already taking odds on who will step into his tux and fill those very big and very well-shined shoes — British actor Idris Elba seems to be the top name being whispered by the rumor mill at present.

SPECTRE hits theaters November 6, 2015 and stars Monica Bellucci, Ralph Fiennes, and Christoph Waltz in addition to you know who.

How No Time To Die’s hidden VFX brought James Bond to the Oscars
An "Oscars Week" badge on an image of Daniel Craig stands in a forest with a rifle in a scene from No Time To Die.

James Bond marked plenty of milestones with No Time To Die, the 25th film in the franchise under producer Eon Productions and the fifth and final performance by Daniel Craig as the titular secret agent with a license to kill. Craig's farewell performance as the iconic spy received a trio of nominations for Academy Awards, with the film earning just the third nomination for visual effects in the franchise's long history.

Under the direction of filmmaker Cary Joji Fukunaga, the VFX team for No Time To Die was led by overall supervisor Charlie Noble, and included two-time (and now three-time) nominee Jonathan Fawkner (Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), who served as the supervisor for VFX studio Framestore on the film. Digital Trends spoke to Fawkner about the unique experience of working on a James Bond film, the invisible effects woven into No Time To Die, and the unique role he found himself in as time constraints and a global pandemic closed in around the film's creative team.

What Amazon’s MGM deal means for James Bond, Rocky, and other franchises
Daniel Craig as James Bond in No Time to Die.

Hollywood is buzzing about Amazon's purchase of MGM Holdings and its massive library of movie and TV franchises, which reportedly accounts for approximately 4,000 individual films and 17,000 hours of TV content. To say that it's a big deal is an understatement, as the $8.45 billion deal provides an injection of well-known entertainment properties into Amazon's future plans at a time when Amazon Prime Video has struggled to match the brand recognition of in-house series and movie franchises owned by competitors like Netflix and Disney+.

So what does it all mean for the James Bond and Rocky franchises, among other MGM properties?
