Along with more scenes of star Melissa Benoist (Glee) in action as Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El, the latest preview also features a few members of the rogues gallery she faces after deciding to finally reveal herself to the world and become the hero she knows she can be.
Along with Benoist, the series cast also includes Mehcad Brooks as former Daily Planet photographer James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as media mogul Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lois Lane’s sister Lucy, Iddo Goldberg as Red Tornado, David Harewood as Department of Extra-Normal Operations chief Hank Henshaw, and Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord. Former Lois & Clark star Dean Cain and 1984 Supergirl movie star Helen Slater are also confirmed for unidentified roles.
Supergirl chronicles the adventures of 24-year-old Kara Zor-El, who has spent a lifetime hiding her amazing powers after arriving on Earth from the doomed planet Krypton. Now working for the fierce media exec Cat Grant (Flockhart), she attempts to find a balance between living her life and protecting the world from all manner of super-powered threats.
The pilot episode of Supergirl was co-written by Ali Adler (No Ordinary Family) and Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash), who are also executive producing the series. Supergirl is a joint production of DC Entertainment and CBS, and rumors suggest that a crossover with fellow DC Comics television series Arrow and The Flash could be a very real possibility if Supergirl finds its footing early on.
The series will premiere Monday, October 26, at 8:30pm ET, then move to a recurring time slot on Mondays at 8:00pm ET beginning November 2.
