The Twin Peaks revival won't premiere in 2016

The saga of the Twin Peaks revival has had nearly as many twists and turns as the original series, and now it looks like fans will have to wait a little longer to see the final product of the cult-classic series’ convoluted return to television.

After initially targeting a 2016 premiere, the series will now debut sometime in 2017, according to CBS Corp CEO Leslie Moonves.

A continuation of the hit series that aired from April 1990 to June 1991, the Twin Peaks revival was scripted by series creators David Lynch and Mark Frost and is expected to take the form of 18 episodes. Lynch and Frost scripted the revival as a single, extended movie that was then cut into individual episodes.

The original Twin Peaks series followed Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) as he investigated the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) in the northwestern town of Twin Peaks. In the process of doing so, Cooper unearths the dark — and frequently very weird — secrets of the town’s eccentric residents. During the final episode of the series, Palmer (whose true fate defies simple explanation) tells Cooper that she’ll see him again in 25 years.

While the new 2017 premiere date misses the 25-year mark predicted by the series finale, the revival is expected to bring back more than a few familiar faces that should make the segue from the original series to the revival a little smoother.

Along with MacLachlan, returning cast members are rumored to include Lee (as Laura Palmer), Richard Beymer (Benjamin Horne), Dana Ashbrook (Bobby Briggs), Mädchen Amick (Shelly Johnson), Everett McGill (Ed Hurley), and Wendy Robie (Nadine Hurley). New characters will be played by Amanda Seyfried (Big Love, Ted 2) and Balthazar Getty (Brothers & Sisters, The Judge), and a recent rumor suggests that Jennifer Jason Leigh will also play a role.

There’s currently no official premiere date for the Twin Peaks revival series.

Diana won’t go quietly in The Crown season 5 trailer
Elizabeth Debicki in The Crown.

The real Queen Elizabeth II died earlier this year, but the fictionalized retelling of her life continues in Netflix's breakout hit, The Crown. The upcoming fifth season jumps ahead to the '90s, which was a very pivotal time for the British royal family. It also throws the spotlight on Diana, Princess of Wales (Elizabeth Debicki), the woman who usurped Queen Elizabeth's place in the hearts and minds of her subjects. The marriage of Diana and Prince Charles (Dominic West) was a storybook moment in the '80s. But as you can see in the trailer below, the time for fairy tale endings is over. And Diana won't go quietly.

You Won’t Be Alone’s new trailer is haunting and bewitching
Noomi Rapace looking scared in You Won't Be Alone.

In myth and legend, witches are almost always the villains. However, the new horror thriller You Won't Be Alone is taking a different tack with its subject matter. The lead character, Nevena, is a witch and she does some horrible things. But she also wants to experience life as a human. To do so, she has to take lives and assume the identity of her victims.

Noomi Rapace stars in the film as Nevena, but since Nevena will take on different bodies, she will be portrayed by other actresses as well. Nevena can even become male if she chooses, and the new trailer appears to indicate that she will at one point. Unfortunately for Nevena, her activities have not gone unnoticed by both the people around her and her fellow witches. But who will get to Nevena first?
