Trap music sensation Fetty Wap has announced a new national tour, and to help people get into the holiday spirit, he’s also released a new Christmas single.

The song, called Merry Xmas, features Monty and was produced by AceSwagBeats. A quickly thrown-together jam featuring a holiday bell-esq intro, the song showcases re-purposed lyrics from Mariah Carey’s seasonal hit All I Want For Christmas Is You which, coincidentally, was recently toppled as the most popular retail holiday jingle by The Shins.

More slapstick than serious jam, Merry Xmas fits the rapper’s normal nonchalant style. Fetty Wap is famous for recording and releasing new material on the fly, once putting out a new EP just 12 hours after he announced he was first entering the studio.

A 24 year-old musician from Paterson, NJ, Fetty Wap rose to fame with his 2014 hit Trap Queen, an upbeat trap song about a beautiful girlfriend he labels his “trap queen.” The song eventually rose to the number two spot on Billboard’s Hot 100. A still up-and-coming hip-hop artist, the rapper was named to XXL Magazine’s prestigious Freshman Class this year, as well as being named Spin Magazine’s 2015 Rookie of the Year. The rapper’s style is modeled off of Southern hip-hop stars like Gucci Mane and Future.

With lyrics like “I said all I want for Christmas/Hold up, let’s check my wishlist/Giving you something different/I’m where they say he isn’t,” Merry Xmas is a funny new holiday jam, offering some respite for those who are sick of more played out Christmas numbers. If nothing else, it’s at least an interesting talking point at your holiday party.

Such prolific — if sometimes purposefully comedic — output from any rapper is a good sign, especially from such a new and sought-after artist. Who knows, perhaps fans will get a new seasonal jam in time for Easter.

The rapper’s national tour will span February and March of next year, and will feature performances by Monty and Post Malone.

What is spatial audio? The 3D sound experience fully explained
Person listening to spatial audio using Apple AirPods Max headphones.

Since Apple added “spatial audio” to the Apple Music streaming service and the AirPods family of wireless earbuds and headphones in 2021, it feels like you can’t read about new audio products or services without running into that term. And just a few short years later, it’s seemingly everywhere.

This has led to a lot of misconceptions about what spatial audio is, how it works, and why you need to hear it for yourself. People often ask, “If Apple created spatial audio, why are other companies claiming they do it, too?” The answer is that Apple didn’t create it, and you certainly don’t need to own its products to experience spatial audio.

Two kids using the Puro Sound PuroQuiet Plus to watch something on a tablet.

Kid-friendly consumer tech is all the rage these days, so it’s no surprise that there’s an entire market of headphones designed exclusively for young ones. But when we think “kid-friendly,” sometimes we imagine products that are built to be a bit more throwaway than their adult counterparts. That’s not the case with the products on our list of the best headphones for kids, though.

We want our child-tailored headphones to include parental-controlled volume limiters, to ensure our children aren’t harming their eardrums. Pretty much every entry on our list checks this vital box, but we also wanted to point you and yours toward products that offer exceptional noise-canceling, built-in mics for phone and video calls, and long-lasting batteries for schooldays or a long flight.
