Check out this glorious, 21-minute sneak peek of the X-Files series revival

THE X-FILES | Re-Opened
FOX’s upcoming X-Files revival has had some fun with its fans leading up to its triumphant return to TV. First, the network released a video featuring 21, extremely rapid-fire images, and then today, a 21-minute preview entitled The X-Files Re-Opened hit the interwebs.

It seems like there’s something significant about the number 21 here, so we’ll have to keep an eye on that possible Easter Egg going forward, but let’s table that for a moment and dig into this latest preview, which offers an extended sneak peek at the mini-series.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the new promo goes behind-the-scenes for a look at the set of the new/old show and gives fans some insight into the process of bringing everyone’s favorite FBI special agents back to the small screen. It also includes commentary from series creator Chris Carter and helps refresh fans on where the show left off when the “final episode” aired in 2002.

If you’re one of those who is looking to go dark and avoid spoilers, however, you may want to watch with your pointer hovering over the pause button, as the spot does reveal a bit about the plot of the new show and the original series.

The new series is scheduled for six, 42-minute episodes and will reportedly provide a mix of stand-alone plot-lines, and episodes that expand upon the mythology of the original. Here’s how executive producer Glen Morgan put it “we knew the first and the sixth were mythology episodes and then the ones in the middle would be stand-alones that was really whatever Jim [Wong] and Darin [Morgan] and I came up with.”

If you’ve got 21 minutes to spare during your hectic Holiday Season, you can watch the whole video above, which features insight from both David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully) in addition to tons of new footage from the show.

The revival is set to premier January 24, 2016 and also stars Joel McHale (Community), Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under), Annabeth Gish (The Bridge), Annet Mahendru (The Americans), Rhys Darby (Flight of the Conchords) and Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley).

After over 13 years of waiting, X-Files fans are less than a month away from the series’ return … cue opening theme!

This is when you can see Paramount’s Running Man remake with Glen Powell
Glen Powell smirks on the left while Arnold Schwarzenegger poses on the right.

Glen Powell will be sprinting into theaters next Thanksgiving. Paramount announced a slew of release dates for its upcoming film slate, led by Edgar Wright's reboot of The Running Man starring Powell.

The Running Man will be released theatrically on November 21, 2025. The film faces tough competition at the box office as it opens against Wicked: Part Two and a Warner Bros. event movie.
The Running Man is based on Stephen King's 1982 dystopian novel of the same name. Set in 2025, The Running Man follows Ben Richards, a man who, in need of money, signs up to appear on The Running Man, a deadly game show that promotes violence and murder. Powell will star as Richards in the remake.
The Running Man was previously adapted into a 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The film received mixed reviews but has since developed a cult-like status. Wright's adaptation is reportedly more faithful to King's novel than the Schwarzenegger-led movie.

The most underrated horror sequel of this century is finally streaming again on Max
A group of people gather in Doctor Sleep.

In terms of traumatic childhoods, few movie characters have ever had it as bad as Danny Torrance. The young psychic child at the center of The Shining is not only relentlessly preyed upon one winter by the malevolent ghosts of a haunted hotel, but he and his mother are also nearly killed by his ax-wielding father. He experiences so many unimaginable horrors over the span of just a few months that one can't help but feel both relief and concern for him when The Shining ends.

Danny's traumatic time at the Overlook Hotel fittingly haunts writer-director Mike Flanagan's Shining sequel, Doctor Sleep. Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, the film attempts to bring the story of Dan Torrance (played as an adult by Ewan McGregor) to a close. In doing so, it ends up telling a very different tale than its revered predecessor. If The Shining is about the dangers of alcoholism and male rage, then Doctor Sleep is about how children survive abuse in a world that seems intent on tamping them down and stealing their "shine."
