Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is headed back to WWE WrestleMania to set a new record

Dwayne Johnson may wear more tailored suits than spandex these days, but he’s still proud to be The Rock. The WWE wrestler-turned-Hollywood action star announced on Instagram that he’ll be back at WrestleMania this year with some very lofty goals.

As Johnson shared in his post — along with footage of some of his wrestling highlights — he’s “coming home” to accomplish a few things: Not only does he want to set an all-time attendance record, he wants to make all-time WrestleMania history, “ELECTRIFY [sic] Dallas like never before,” and have fun. “It’s always an honor coming home and I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” he wrote.

WWE.com also hyped the news, sharing that the event will “now feature The Most Electrifying Man in Entertainment.” The Rock will be in Dallas for WrestleMania 32’s Showcase of the Immortals on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at AT&T Stadium.

Since his pro wrestling days, Johnson has gone on to star in several blockbuster films, including multiple installments in the Fast and Furious franchise and 2015’s San Andreas. He’s also the star of popular HBO comedy Ballers, and his lineup of upcoming films includes the Baywatch movie.

In spite of his skyrocketing status as an actor, Johnson has been loyal to WWE over the years, getting down to business during WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara, California, and battling Triple H and Stephanie McMahon with Ronda Rousey. As The Hamilton Spectator pointed out, he once said, “I appreciate where I came from and I appreciate the wrestling industry. Even more so I appreciate the fans, and they’ve been there for me. And I don’t ever want to leave that entirely.”

WrestleMania 32 will air live on the WWE Network.

We all have our traditions for Christmas. Some sing carols around the neighborhood while others wear ugly sweaters to work and make gingerbread at home. For myself, every year I always go to one place of worship on Christmas Day: the movie theater. I'll be there this year, plunging myself into the Gothic darkness of Robert Eggers' Nosferatu remake, watching Nicole Kidman submit to unspeakable carnal pleasures in Babygirl, and witnessing the birth of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.

For as long as I can remember, I've gone to the theater on Christmas and watched three or four movies, usually from different genres, and it's always been the one present to myself that's satisfied me the most. But there was one year when my holiday movie marathon hit a perfect score, all 10s, and no notes: 1999. That was a great movie year, so it stands to reason its Christmas Day offerings would tower over the rest.
