Last month at CES, Dell unveiled new devices in its Latitude line of hybrids, and today those 2-in-1 systems are finally on sale. Customers are now able to place orders on the business-friendly Latitude 7000 Series 2-in-1, as well as the small but mighty Latitude 5000 Series 2-in-1.
The most capable version of the Latitude 12 7000 Series 2-in-1 is fitted with a 6th generation Intel Core 1.2GHz processor, 8GB of DDR3 RAM at 1600MHz and 128GB of SSD M.2 SATA — more storage space can be added at a price. The system also boasts two USB 3.1 Type-C ports as part of its suite of connectivity options.
However, the most eye-catching component of this particular hybrid is its stunning display. As well as the standard FHD 1,920 x 1,080 screen, customers can select the premium 4K UHD 3,840 x 2,160 option at a premium of $210. This gorgeous touch-enabled LCD will no doubt tempt many users into buying a pen accessory to cut down on stray fingerprints.
Not to be outdone, the Latitude 11 5000 Series 2-in-1 has been packed with plenty of punch. The hybrid features a 10.8-inch touch screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 8GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD M.2 SATA. Meanwhile, a 35 watt-hour, field-replaceable battery should keep the device active when you’re working on the move.
Dell is aiming to court business customers with these hybrids, and as such security is one of the biggest strengths of the 5000 Series 2-in-1. It’s being billed as the world’s most secure 2-in-1 for business applications, thanks to its integrated authentication hardware, self-encrypting drives, and Dell’s fleet of security utilities.
The 5000 Series 2-in-1 starts at $749, while the 7000 Series 2-in-1 is priced from $1,049 — but, given that these are high-end systems, you can expect to pay plenty more for the top-tier specifications described in this article. More information on both devices is available via the Dell website.
