The second season of Daredevil premieres in just a few weeks, and Netflix has released a new teaser for the series’ return that includes a (very) brief message from one of the upcoming season’s most-anticipated new arrivals: The Punisher.

The voice of The Walking Dead actor Jon Bernthal can be heard at the end of the new teaser offering a one-word hint at what’s to come for (or rather, from) his character, Frank “The Punisher” Castle, when he makes his debut in the second season of the hit series. Bernthal can be heard saying “Bang,” after the sound of a gun being cocked near the end of the teaser.

“Everyone has a debt to pay. Have you paid yours?” reads the caption for the teaser, which debuted on Twitter. “Happy Chinese New Year from Hell’s Kitchen.”

Set to bring back Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, a blind attorney gifted with superhuman senses who fights crime in the courtroom by day and in the streets at night, Daredevil will also feature the return of Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Scott Glenn as Stick (who can also be heard in the teaser), and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple. Dawson also appeared in the recent Jessica Jones series, making her one of the primary connecting characters in the television corner of Marvel’s cinematic universe.

Along with introducing Bernthal as the gun-toting vigilante The Punisher, the second season of Daredevil will also feature the debut of G.I. Joe: Retaliation actress Elodie Yung as the deadly assassin Elektra Natchios, who is also Matt Murdock’s former love interest, and who harbors a dangerous secret. Bernthal’s character is already rumored to have his own Netflix series in the works, spinning out of the events of the upcoming season and focusing on The Punisher’s one-man war on crime.

When Daredevil returns next month, it will also feature a pair of new showrunners, with first-season writers Doug Petrie (American Horror Story, Buffy The Vampire Slayer) and Marco Ramirez (DaVinci’s Demons) taking over for first-season showrunner Steven S. DeKnight. The pair will also serve as executive producers on the series along with Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) and Jeph Loeb (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Jessica Jones).

The second season of Daredevil premieres March 18 on Netflix. All 13 episodes of the second season will be available on the streaming service when it premieres.

5 things we want to see in The Penguin season 2
Colin Farrell in The Penguin.

The first season of The Penguin was, by most metrics, a roaring success. The show managed to expand the universe of The Batman without making us wonder where Batman himself was, and helped us understand one of that movie's most important secondary characters.

Now that the first season is over, though, it's unclear whether we'll be getting more of the show. The Penguin's ending most explicitly sets up The Batman 2, so it seems unlikely that we'll be getting more of the show before that movie. If we do eventually get a second season, though, these are a few things we'd definitely like to see.
A balance of ground-level drama and more integration with Batman characters

A man stands in front of a podium surrounded by people in front of steps.

January 1, 2023. That is when the final episode of Yellowstone season 5, part 1 aired. It's been a long time since the Dutton Family has been on Paramount Network, but their hiatus will end in November with the premiere of Yellowstone season 5, part 2.

With filming underway, the Yellowstone cast and crew released a special featurette, taking fans behind the scenes of the upcoming episodes. Everyone involved in the sneak peek reiterated the same two points: the break between parts 1 and 2 has been too long, and the cast is ready to release new episodes.
