We’ll have to wait till November 4 for The Crown, but it looks like it will be worth the wait. The series, which centers on Queen Elizabeth II in the early years of her reign and marriage, is created by Peter Morgan, who has deftly handled the monarch’s life in the past. His screenplay for the 2006 film The Queen earned an Oscar nomination, among other accolades. The show will likely be particularly interesting to history buffs, but it should also have wider reach with its intriguing drama, from romances to political rivalries.

Claire Foy will star as Queen Elizabeth II, taking on yet another royal role. The British actress’ credits include the BBC drama Wolf Hall, in which she portrayed the ill-fated former Queen of England Anne Boleyn. Her Crown co-stars include John Lithgow, Matt Smith, Victoria Hamilton, Jared Harris, Vanessa Kirby, and Eileen Atkins. Directed by Stephen Daldry, the series will premiere worldwide with 10 episodes.

Marco Polo will arrive for its second 10-episode season on July 1. The series will continue following the explorer’s time in Kublai Khan’s court in 13th-century China. Written by John Fusco, the series has its share of rivalry, greed, betrayal, and sexual intrigue. Fusco and Dan Minahan serve as executive producers and showrunners, while Harvey Weinstein, Bob Weinstein, and Elizabeth Sarnoff also executive produce.

Netflix released promos showcasing the premiere dates of The Crown (above) and Marco Polo (below), giving viewers a taste of what’s to come.

The 10 best Tim Burton movies, ranked
Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands.

For nearly four decades, Tim Burton has proven to be one of Hollywood's most eclectic directors. And while not all of Burton's movies are created equal -- especially his ill-fated Planet of the Apes reboot -- he does have a pretty terrific track record. And since his latest film, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, is now out in theaters, this is the perfect time to share our picks for the 10 best Tim Burton movies.

Note that only movies that were directed by Burton appear on this list. The stop-motion animated classic The Nightmare Before Christmas would have had a high place among these films if it had actually been directed by Burton. Henry Selick is the director of record, but that movie was adapted from a story created and written by Burton. But even without that film, there are some truly unforgettable cinematic tales among Burton's best movies.
