Google has put its Nexus smartphones up for sale before, but if you missed those sales or weren’t really ready to upgrade, you’ve got another chance now.

If you head to the Google Store, you’ll see both the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X on sale with a $50 discount. Basically, the 32GB Nexus 6P is down to $450, the 64GB version to $500, and the 128GB version to $600. If a 5-inch phone is more your flavor, the 5X is down to $300 or $350, for the 16GB or 32GB versions, respectively.

Don’t want to buy through the Google Store? Well, it seems as though the discount is also available at Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, and B&H Photo Video. Not only that, but if you end up buying the Nexus 6P at Newegg, you’ll also get a free clear case and a $50 gift card. Not bad!

Of course, you might not want that clear case — Google just launched customizable ‘Live Cases’ for its Nexus phones. To make a personalized case, you can upload your own design and there’s a programmable hardware button on the back, all for $35.

The sale is running from April 15 all the way to May 6, so if you have yet to make your mind about whether or not you want to pull the trigger, you have a few weeks to decide.

Apart from the storage choices, the Google Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. It also includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, and a 12.3-megapixel rear-facing camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. You can find our review of the device here.

The Nexus 6P offers a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels. The processor in the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. The rear-facing camera is 12.3 megapixels and the front-facing camera is 8 megapixels. You can check out our review of the Nexus 6P here.

Sure, $50 might not sound like such a big deal, but for Google’s flagship smartphone, there might not be a better time to pull the trigger than now, at least until right before Google’s ready to take the wraps off of its next-generation smartphones.

The iPhone 16 sticking out of someone's pocket.

Future Android phones may come with another preinstalled Google app
The new Cardio Load and Readiness features in the Fitbit app.

If you have an Android phone, you know it comes with many preinstalled Google apps, such as Gmail, YouTube, and Google Maps. In future Android versions, another Google app might be automatically added to the mix.

As 9to5Google first noted, the Oppo Find X8 has Google’s Fitbit app preloaded on the device. It’s now part of Google’s Android app suite on that handset and replaces Google Fit. The site suggests, and probably rightly so, that more Android-based devices will also probably ship with Fitbit preinstalled in the future.
