HP's Pavilion laptop line is gearing up for a summer of blockbuster releases

Playful, stylish, iconic – these aren’t terms you normally see pop up in a press release involving new computers, but HP isn’t afraid of being trendy, as evidenced by the new lineup of Pavilion computers. Among them are a 360-degree hinge convertible, standard laptops, all-in-ones, and desktop towers, and they’re all budget-friendly.

First up is the new 15.6-inch HP Pavilion x360, which joins the existing 11.6 and 13.3-inch 360-degree convertible systems. Apart from the new screen size, and shedding some weight and size, the changes are mostly cosmetic. A new tread pattern adds some splash to the keyboard, and the 13.3 and 15.6-inch versions now sport an optional backlit keyboard.

HP hasn’t forgotten its users that are looking for more traditional mobile options, however, and there are updated Pavilion notebooks too. Like the x360, the 14 and 15.6-inch laptops have slimmed down considerably since the last iteration. Still at the top of the heap, the 17.3-inch Pavilion notebook doesn’t skimp on power and size. While it’s subject to screen size, the systems are configurable with the up to Core i7 Skylake chips and a GTX 960M, or the AMD A12-9700P with Radeon R7 graphics.

For those who lead a more home-bound lifestyle, the HP Pavilion all-in-ones are as easy to setup as they are to look at. There are two new models, with 23.8 and 27-inch IPS displays. They’re both available with a wide array of internals, starting at the Pentium line and moving all the way up to Core i7. There’s even an option to add an Intel RealSense camera for facial recognition and 3D mapping.

Finally, HP is refreshing its standalone Pavilion tower, this time with a more colorful outlook on life. The redesigned tower is available in Natural Silver, Blizzard White, and Twinkle Black, so it doesn’t have to hide under your desk. It’s also available with anything from an Intel Celeron to an Intel Core i7, as well as AMD A12 chips. HP even has a new screen to pair with the revamped desktop, a 32-inch QHD display with a USB hub.
