Podcast fans need to get ready for OurMemos, who are looking to partner with global platforms to launch a podcast player app that promises to redefine the way they experience podcasts. For those who enjoy capturing memorable or educational snippets during their daily podcast routine, this new app will allow listeners to clip, tag, and organize segments easily. By combining tech innovations with a deep understanding of podcast listeners’ needs, OurMemos is here to take audio content engagement to the next level.

“Through this platform, we aim to create a one-stop-shop for podcast enthusiasts,” says Fayez Azeez, co-founder of OurMemos. “We wanted a way for people to save and revisit parts of podcasts they found meaningful – audio mementos. We believe this is going to change the way people listen and interact with podcasts.”

A growing podcast industry

The podcast industry itself has grown within the U.S.; according to statistics, close to 70 million people listened to podcasts in 2023, and it will reach about 113 million users by 2029. Witnessing this surge, the demand for such a tool is only going to rise.

To keep up with the trends and continue making an impact, OurMemos offers a suite of features designed for deeper interaction. At its core, the app lets users clip and tag segments within podcasts, creating sound bites that users can save and share. The app’s cloud-processing technology ensures that clips are created seamlessly in the background, freeing up listeners’ devices to multitask without interruption.

OurMemos aims to work with major podcast providers, with the end goal being for them to allow listeners (through whichever podcast channel they prefer) to access their favorite shows from multiple platforms all in one place.

“Through this platform, we aim to create a one-stop-shop for podcast enthusiasts.”

In addition, OurMemos has ambitious plans for AI integration. The platform will eventually use AI to identify and showcase advertisements within podcasts, giving listeners the option to engage with advertised content directly. Imagine listening to a show, hearing about a product, and simply tapping an on-screen icon to learn more about it – seamlessly and instantly. These features make the app a groundbreaking tool for listeners and an enticing opportunity for advertisers.

Rising to the challenge

Building the app hasn’t been a piece of cake – it’s been a meticulous, bootstrapped effort, with each stage of development funded step-by-step. “We’re going to get this app to a place where it’s cohesive with every major platform, and eagerly looking forward to our next steps after launch,” explains the other co-founder Artem Iaryguine.

Beyond the initial release, OurMemos plans to expand within the first quarter of 2025, making the app accessible to an even broader audience. While the app is free to download, future versions may include a premium model, giving users advanced features like clip editing and the ability to sequence clips by topic. This will ensure that OurMemos can continue to expand its services and support an increasingly robust experience for listeners.

“We believe this is going to change the way people listen and interact with podcasts.”

Designed to enhance the modern podcast experience, OurMemos’ app will cater to listeners who turn to podcasts during daily commutes or work hours, enriching their lives and fostering a more memorable listening journey. The co-founders conclude, “We’re creating a richer way to experience and share the wisdom found in podcasts. This is only the beginning, and we’re excited to see where this journey takes us.”

At the web scraping conference OxyCon 2024, its organizer Oxylabs revealed the first AI copilot for web scraping. It comes as a feature of Oxylabs' unified Web Scraper API, which serves as an all-in-one public web data scraping platform. Named OxyCopilot, the feature tackles one of the main challenges in the web scraping pipeline — building and maintaining custom data parsers with limited infrastructure, personnel, and time resources.

Oxylabs is a leading web intelligence platform with nearly a decade of experience in the field. OxyCopilot is not the first time the company has led the way in AI implementation for data scraping. In fact, from its inception, Oxylabs put special emphasis on fostering innovation and research and development (R&D). This attitude allowed a once humble startup from Lithuania to become a leading force in web data extraction recognized by the world's top brands. However, it also meant encountering multiple challenges on its path.
What is OxyCopilot, and who is it for?
Integrating Oxylabs' scraper APIs into one platform — Web Scraper API — provides users a one-stop shop for all their public web data needs. OxyCopilot is an AI-powered feature of this unified platform that helps users create requests for the API and build custom parsers.
