2011 Porsche Cayenne

While its easy to play the role of the purist and complain about any Porsche that’s not a 911, the Cayenne has done quite a lot for the fans being that its the company’s best selling car and gives R&D more money to improve upon the 911 program. That said, Porsche’s got a new Cayenne and leaner, more efficient, and a hell of a lot better looking. The two major highlights of the new Cayenne lineup are S Hybrid and Turbo models. The least mpg-friendly of the two will have a 4.8 liter biturbo 500 hp V8 whereas the S Hybrid while still powerful, utilizes a 3 liter supercharged V6 electric hybrid engine delivering a total of 333 horsepower and an impressive 34.4 mpg. Scout Traveler and Scout Terra forge a new path for EVs
Scout Traveler and Scout Terra.

Electric vehicles are inseparable from newness, whether it’s new tech, new designs, or new companies like Rivian, Lucid, and Tesla. But the Volkswagen Group’s new EV-only brand also relies heavily on the past.

Unveiled Thursday, the Scout Traveler electric SUV and Scout Terra electric pickup truck are modern interpretations of the classic International Harvester Scout. Manufactured from 1961 to 1980, the original Scout helped popularize the idea of the rugged, off-road-capable utility vehicle, setting the stage for modern SUVs.

Are self-driving cars the death of car ownership?
Tesla Cybercab at night

Self-driving cars are coming. It remains to be seen how long that will take. Plenty of vehicles can more or less drive themselves on highways, but for now, they still can't completely reliably drive themselves on all streets, in all conditions, taking into account all different variables. One thing is clear, though: the tech industry sees autonomous driving as the future of personal transportation, and they're spending billions to reach that goal.

But what happens when we get there? Tesla made headlines for not only announcing its new Cybercab fully autonomous vehicle, but simultaneously claiming that customers will be able to buy one. That's right, at least if Tesla is to be believed, the Cybercab doesn't necessarily represent Tesla building its own Uber-killing fleet of self-driving cars, but instead giving people the ownership over the self-driving car industry.

Karma’s EVs are getting a Master & Dynamic audio upgrade
Karma Kaveya featuring Master & Dynamic sound.

Karma Automotive has partnered with Master & Dynamic (M&D) to bring the New York City-based boutique audio company's sound to two of its electric vehicles. It's the first time that M&D has designed an in-cabin sound system. It says it will also design a selection of "sound tools" exclusively for Karma, including wireless headphones.

The Karma cars in question are Karma’s third-gen Karma Revero, set to begin deliveries later in 2024, and the upcoming $300,000 Karma Kaveya super-coupe. In the meantime, owners of existing Karma Reveros can enjoy Tune, an over-the-air audio upgrade for the Karma Revero sport sedan. According to M&D, Tune lets drivers seamlessly download a proprietary equalization package that "enhances the in-vehicle audio experience with Master & Dynamic’s signature rich, warm sound."
