The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro engine specs and pictures leak early

Even with the scheduled reveal just a day away, leaked photos and images are always exciting when it comes to highly anticipated vehicles like the 2016 Camaro.

CNBC reported on the redesigned muscle car, featuring a few images of the car’s new face and body. Not only did the images leak, but its three-engine range was revealed as well.

Starting with the aesthetics. While teasers seemed to show aggressive styling for the 2016 Camaro, in reality, the finished product looks rather tame. The new face resembles certain styling elements from the new Malibu, as well as the vehicle shown in the most recent “Transformers” movie. As for the rear end, besides some additional character lines, the same toned-down looks continue.

Perhaps more interesting than the re-sculpted body are the new powertrains on hand.

The base-spec Camaro will now come equipped with a 2.0 liter four-cylinder developing 270 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque. The mid-range version will feature a newly-developed 3.6 liter V6 making 330 hp and 275 pound-feet of torque. It’s presumed this engine is the same as the upcoming CT6’s base powertrain.

At the top of the range, the Camaro SS will come with a 6.2 liter LT1 V8 making 440 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. Gone is the LS motor, and in its place slots the Stingray’s LT powerplant with 14 extra horses over the current Camaro.

Noteably, GM has decided to forego Ford’s tactic of putting the turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the mid-range spec and has added it as the entry-level option. The allure of muscle car looks with a frugal motor could prove to sell the base car in greater numbers.

Other hardware upgrades will include optional magnetic ride control, a dual-mode exhaust system in the SS, and a lighter body for all versions of the Camaro.

2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is an electric pickup built for work and play
2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST.

Chevrolet hopes to bring electrification to the masses by pelting the Silverado, one of the best-selling vehicles in the United States, into EV territory. Unveiled on the sidelines of CES 2022, the 2024 Silverado EV offers impressive specifications and a ton of technology.

While the Silverado nameplate has been around for decades, the electric model shares more with the GMC Hummer EV than with the truck that's currently in showrooms. It's built around the Ultium Platform that General Motors developed to underpin a wide range of electric models, meaning it offers through-the-road all-wheel-drive thanks to a pair of electric motors. Their output depends on the trim level.

Realme recently announced the GT 2 and GT 2 Pro, which would launch on January 4 at 9 a.m. IST (10:30 pm ET). The GT 2 Pro would be the first smartphone with an ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 150-degree field of view. It would also have a "fisheye mode" to make photographs more appealing. While the GT 2 series would launch next week, they would not be the only smartphones from the tech giant to be released in the first quarter of 2022. A leaked listing on Aliexpress has revealed the Realme 9i, which is expected to launch in China in January 2022. There have been suggestions that the company is working on several smartphones in the Realme 9 series, such as the Realme 9, the Realme 9 Pro, 9 Pro+, 9 Pro Max, as well as the 9i. Meanwhile, 91mobiles has also confirmed via a tipster that four of these models would be launching in India over the final week of January/early February, which would be spread over two launch events.

The Realme 9i seems to be a budget device, similar to the 8i from the Realme 8 series. It is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor and would be equipped with 4GB of RAM. Its 6.59-inch LCD display would have a 90Hz refresh rate, with a resolution of 399 ppi. It would have a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP wide-angle primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide angle, and a 2MP depth camera. Meanwhile, the front camera would be a 16MP sensor with Full HD video recording at 30 fps. The dual NANO-SIM smartphone would have 128GB of storage space, which would be expandable up to 256GB. Finally, the 5000mAh battery would have 33W of fast charge via a USB Type-C port. Considering that the Realme 8i with its 4GB RAM+64GB space and the 6GB RAM+128GB versions are currently priced at $173 and $200 respectively in Asian markets, the cost of the 9i should hover around that mark.

Early Android 13 leak shows handy language and notification control tools
Android 13 concept.

Android 13 is still about nine months away, but development appears to be in full swing at Google and an early glimpse at the next-gen smartphone OS has already popped up online. The folks over at XDA-Developers have gotten their hands on screenshots depicting a very early build of Android 13 from an unspecified source with access to it. Before we go into details, it is worth mentioning here that some of these features might get pushed, or never make it out of the test phase.
App language
First in line is an Android 13 feature called App Language. As the name makes it abundantly clear, it will allow users to specify the UI language on a per-app basis. The feature has been in development under the codename ‘Panlingual’ and will be accessible on this path: Settings > System > Languages & input > App Languages. Once an app has been selected, users will be taken to its App Language page where they can make the necessary linguistic adjustment.
Notification control tool
Next in line is a notification control tool that will help control the barrage of unnecessary notifications. With Android 13, Google appears to be testing a new “POST_NOTIFICATIONS” protocol that will make notifications an opt-in feature. What that means is just as with permissions for accessing camera and location, users will be able to specify if an app can send notifications.
