The only problem of cruising around in a supercar is that you don’t get to see it against the scenery you happen to be riding by, so the only real solution is to take a few more exotic rides with you so you have something to look at.
In this video posted on YouTube, the driver of an Audi R8 V10 did just that, taking a Porsche 918 Spyder and a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta with him on a spirited rally through some mountain roads in Italy. The camera-shy Ferrari leads the pack, setting the pace with the help of its 6.3-liter 12-cylinder engine, giving the Italian supercar 730-horsepower to play with and 509 pound-feet of torque.
The Porsche 918 spyder, however, is clearly being conservative with the 887 hp it has to bring to the table, thanks to the combined efforts of its 4.6-liter v8 and two accompanying electric motors. The R8 can only hope to stay in the back of them, as its 5.2-liter V10’s substantial 525 hp is barely enough to keep up with the two leading supercars. You’ll see the Porsche frequently gallop off in the distance before the Audi meets up with it at a narrow bend.
We wouldn’t mind seeing the views from the other cars, or even a wider shot from the Audi, but beggars can’t be choosers. It’s also not the most dynamic, action packed video, but we can certainly appreciate taking a few moments to put ourselves in the seat of the R8 and pretend we’re there out on a grand tour through a gorgeous European vista with a couple supercar pals.
