How to choose a laptop on Black Friday from Best Buy

There are so many laptops on sale from Best Buy right now that selecting the device to purchase will likely prove to be overwhelming. To start narrowing down your options, you may want to take a look at our rankings of the best laptops, so that you’ll have a guide on the models that you should keep an eye on. At the very least, you should stick with the best laptop brands to make sure that you’ll be getting a reliable and well-built machine. You may enjoy slightly more savings with an unknown manufacturer, but we don’t recommend taking that risk.

Next, you’re going to have to think of the purpose of the laptop that you want to buy. For example, a gaming laptop is a necessity to fully enjoy the best PC games, while a Chromebook may be enough for students who will only do basic schoolwork. You wouldn’t want to spend too much on a laptop that you won’t fully maximize.

Lastly, there are specifications that you need to consider. Take a look at our guide on how much RAM do you need to find out what you should be looking for, and decide on the screen size you want: You can go as small as 13 inches for portability, or as big as 18 inches if you prefer a wide look at your projects or games. For other components such as processors and graphics cards, consult our laptop buying guide.
