Addonics Zebra Does Blu-ray and HD DVD

If the whole format war between HD DVD and Blu-ray is getting you down—or at least getting you frustrated—external storage vendor Addonics wants to come to your rescue with its new Zebra Blu-ray/HD DVD player. The device can connect to your computer using either eSATA or USB 2.0, and can read from either Blu-ray or HD DVD media. Of course, the drive can also read standard DVDs, as well as burn DVD&plusmnR/RW/DL and CD-R-RW media.

The Zebra drive supports Windows 98SE all the way up to Windows Vista, and also claims support for Linux and Mac OS X 10.4, although Linux playback is possible only with third party applications and, as for Mac OS X, no Blu-ray or HD DVD playback solutions exist yet. The drives come bundles with the Cyberlink High-Def Suite for use with Windows XP/2003/Vista.

The World Wide Web? It was dreamed up on NeXTSTEP. It paved the way for macOS and all of Apple’s other modern operating systems. And as we mentioned earlier, it was crafted at a company led by a certain Steve Jobs. You might have heard of him.

The macOS Sequoia update just launched. Here’s why you should install it
The iPhone Mirroring feature from macOS Sequoia being demonstrated at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024.

The macOS Sequoia update is finally here, bringing iPhone Mirroring, Safari updates, window tiling, and the new Passwords app to Mac. As promised, there are no Apple Intelligence features in this update, but they will start rolling out from next month.

iPhone Mirroring is the most exciting thing coming with this update, allowing you to check your messages, notifications, and apps without switching devices. The feature makes a lot of sense as the one time we truly don't need our phones is when we're already using a computer. Instead of taking your hands off the keyboard to pick up your iPhone, you can simply access it on your Mac like a phone-shaped app.

This incredible laptop does something the MacBook Air never could
Asus ProArt PX13 top down view showing keyboard.

The 13-inch laptop space is full of some great machines. The size has become a bit less popular in the last couple of years, as 14-inch laptops have started to take over, but if you want the smallest laptop possible you can find one or two great options.

The Apple MacBook Air M3 is one such machine. It's fast, incredibly well-built, and has class-leading battery life. But the Asus ProArt PX13 brings enhanced performance to the fight. Is that enough to win a top spot?
