Looking to build your own PC? AMD’s Ryzen processors are at some of the lowest prices we’ve seen, giving you a great opportunity to outfit your build with one of the top processors on the market. We’ve spotted several sales on both select Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 series CPUs.

The Ryzen 5 and 7 represent AMD’s midrange and high end processors. Which one you choose depends on your computing needs. Everyday users that occasionally need power for processor-intensive tasks should look at the Ryzen 5, while gamers and power users should look towards the Ryzen 7 instead. Our search found the lowest online prices to be at either Walmart or Amazon, and some of the prices we saw were the lowest we’ve seen yet on the Ryzen line.

There’s also an added benefit to purchasing select AMD CPUs right now: As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, every purchase of the CPU deals we’re about to share with you include two games free with your purchase — Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 and World War Z. There are several U.S. retailers participating, including Micro Center (in-store only), Best Buy, Newegg, Walmart, and Amazon.

AMD Ryzen 5 9600X is now almost $50 cheaper than it was two months ago
The AMD Ryzen 5 9600X between two finger tips.

AMD's Zen 5 processors are still fresh out of the oven -- they were only released a little over two months ago. As they struggle to find their footing among some of the best processors, they've been getting discounted regularly ever since, and that certainly helps. Today's deals bring the Ryzen 5 9600X down by nearly $50 when compared to its recommended list price.

The Ryzen 5 9600X is the most budget-friendly chip in the new lineup. It started out with a recommended price (MSRP) of $280, which is $10 less than its predecessor.  That adjustment was nice to see, but the 9600X was still much pricier than the 7600X upon launch, as the Zen 4 chip received numerous price cuts since it first hit the shelves. Right now, it's priced at $225, but I've seen it sell for much less.

AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D is official, and it shakes things up in a big way
Pads on the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

We all knew it was coming. A string of rumors over the past several months has pointed to AMD releasing the Ryzen 7 9800X3D on November 7, but the company itself just confirmed the new CPU. It's looking for a spot among the best processors, packing 3D V-Cache on top of an eight-core Zen 5 CPU in order to improve gaming performance.

True to rumors we've seen this week, AMD is pricing the CPU at $479, which is nearly $30 more expensive than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. AMD claims that the new chip provides an average gaming increase of 8% over the last-gen CPU, and 20% faster gaming performance compared to Intel's recent Core Ultra 9 285K. In addition, AMD says that minimum frame rates are up, with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D improving 1% lows in The Last of Us Part One by 31%.

I tested the Core Ultra 9 285K against the Ryzen 7 7800X3D — and it’s ugly
Fingers holding an Intel 285K.

Intel's new Core Ultra 9 285K is finally here, promising a boost in performance with a significant reduction in power requirements, at least according to Intel. As you can read in my Core Ultra 9 285K review, Intel's performance claims aren't as rosy as reality, especially when stacked up against what is unequivocally the best processor for gaming you can buy: AMD's Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

I threw both processors on the test bench to pit them head-to-head, looking at performance across productivity and gaming apps, as well as thermals and efficiency. These CPUs target different users, but there are still a lot of interesting comparisons we can look at between them.
