Arrested For Uploading New G N’ R Songs

Arrested For Uploading New G N

It’s 15 years since the rock band Guns N’ Roses released an album. For much of that time they’ve been threatening to issue another disc called Chinese Democracy, but it’s never materialized.

One fan, however, appears to have grown tired of waiting. On Wednesday Los Angeles resident Kevin Cogill, 27, was arrested by federal authorities on suspicion of copyright infringement for posting nine unreleased Guns N’ Roses tracks on his Antiquiet blog in June, the Los Angeles Times has reported.

They were removed shortly after, reportedly at the request of the band, but the site evidently received so much traffic it crashed.

Cogill admitted what he’d done when questioned by the FBI and appeared in court on Wednesday. If found guilty he could get three years in jail, or five years if a jury decides he posted the songs for commercial gain. He was released on bail.

A new G N’ R song is set to appear on the video game Rock Band 2, due next month.

AMD just released two new Ryzen 5000G processors -- the Ryzen 5 5600G and Ryzen 7 5700G. Over the past several months, the price of last-gen APUs has gone up in response to the GPU shortage. For example, we recommended the Ryzen 5 3400G in our best $500 gaming PC build at twice the price it should sell for. The two-year-old chip should sell for $150, but it's nearly $330 at the time of publication.
