How to choose an Alienware gaming laptop during Cyber Week

When it comes to any purchase, it’s a smart move to immediately consider your budget. How much can you afford to spend on your new Alienware gaming laptop? It’s possible to spend just $1,000, but it’s also possible to spend $3,000 or more, so it’s important to think about what you can afford so you don’t get lured into spending more money than you need to.

From there, think about the choices between AMD and Intel. Both make the best processors around, but it’s important to read up on the differences between the two. Other than that, stick with 16GB of RAM for the cheaper gaming laptops and 32GB or 64GB if you can afford it. Similarly, higher numbers with storage and the GeForce RTX graphics card is always wise.

On a more personal level, think about what size screen you want. An 18-inch display looks fantastic but it makes the laptop bulky and not exactly portable. It also impacts battery life. Aim for a 14-inch display and it’s much more portable, but it won’t look as good for that desktop replacement style experience. Only you really know what will work best for you. At least if you go with Alienware, you’re getting something from one of the best gaming laptop brands.

How we chose these Alienware gaming laptop Cyber Week deals

How we choose the best Alienware gaming laptop Cyber Monday deals is a little simpler than you might think. Thanks to Alienware making some of the best gaming laptops over the years, you can’t go wrong with anything from the brand. That helps our decision making process as we only feature the best products here. We’re talking laptops that you actually want to own and ones that we want to use too. These are the devices we would recommend to our loved ones.

Alongside that, we also make sure that the price is right. We’re looking out for the best prices and the best value. Sometimes, the lowest price isn’t ideal as you want to invest a little more to reap more RAM or storage and extend the longevity of your laptop purchase. We bear that in mind, which is why we feature a wide range of budgets here.

The Lenovo Legion 5i with RTX 4060 is 37% off for Cyber Week
The Lenovo Legion 5i laptop with the Legion logo on the screen.

Often the home of great gaming laptop deals, Lenovo has a particularly great one for anyone keen to game in style this holiday season. Today, you can buy the Lenovo Legion 5i with a 16-inch screen for just $1,121, meaning you’re saving 37% or $669 off the regular price. It's a hefty price cut, but it’s worth remembering that Lenovo’s estimated value system means that sometimes the original price is optimistically high. But the discounted price is still great either way. One of the better laptop deals around, the Lenovo Legion 5i looks great and packs plenty of punch for the price. Here’s why you’ll want it.

Why you should buy the Lenovo Legion 5i
Lenovo is one of the best gaming laptop brands around and my personal favorite of the bunch. Having owned an older Lenovo Legion laptop for a number of years, I’d happily recommend the range for anyone seeking a reliable gaming laptop. With the Lenovo Legion 5i, you get a great upgrade to my four-year-old Lenovo Legion. It has a 14th-generation Intel Core i7-14650HX CPU and it’s teamed up with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of SSD storage. The highlight here is its Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card with 8GB of dedicated VRAM. It’s the best graphics card in this price range dodging the downfall of the weaker 4050 GPU.

The Dell XPS Desktop on a desk next to a monitor.

For one of the best remaining Cyber Week computer deals, head to Dell right now. Currently, you can buy the a Dell XPS Desktop with GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card for $600 off. Normally $2,345, it’s down to $1,745, which is a great price for a desktop PC that is fairly well suited for gaming. All you need is to add one of the best monitor deals and you’re all set. Here’s what this desktop has to offer.

Why you should buy the Dell XPS Desktop
Well suited for gaming as well as working effectively from home, this Dell XPS Desktop is packed with great hardware. It has a 14th generation Intel Core i9-14900K CPU, which is the CPU that I personally considered kitting out my new gaming PC with. It also has 32GB of memory and 1TB of SSD storage. Best of all is its Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU with 12GB of dedicated VRAM. That all makes for a PC that is perfect for gaming even if it doesn’t look like a gaming PC. This is easily one of the best desktop PCs around. The only consideration I’d make for gaming is wishing there was more storage space, but that’s easily added at a later date.

For $630, you may want to take the plunge on an OLED gaming monitor
The Last of Us Part One running on the MSI MPG 321URX.

OLED prices are dropping fast -- and I mean really fast. For Cyber Week, you can pick up the MSI . Keep in mind that just over 12 months ago, this exact same panel was selling for $1,000, and even with newer monitors making the rounds, this is still one of the best gaming monitors you can buy.

Now, I haven't used this exact monitor, but I have plenty of experience to make an informed recommendation here. I've seen this panel at work in the Alienware 27 QD-OLED, and I've tested plenty of MSI OLED monitors like the MPG 321URX. That's all to say, while I haven't reviewed this specific monitor, I'm intimately familiar with just about every aspect of it.
