For folks who keep their PCs overclocked and running on the bleeding edge of performance (because, otherwise, these folks never win the LAN contests!), Crucial Technology is now offering 1 GB Ballistix and Ballistics Tracer 1066 MHz DDR2 memory modules.
Like previous Ballistix offerings, the PC2-85000 modules sport Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP), which enables the module to utilize different memory settings on EPP-supported systems to respond to processor overclocking, delivering better performance. The the PC2-8500 sticks are 240-pin, 2.2V unbuffered non-ECC memory, sporting 64 128MB chips and CAS 5-5-5-15 CAS latency numbers.
“For demanding customers looking for excellent performance, faster speeds and lower latencies, Ballistix memory is the ideal solution—and the new DDR2 PC2-8500 modules are no exception. Plus, they’re backed by a limited-lifetime warranty and the stellar support that’s synonymous with the Crucial name,” said Jeremy Mortenson, Crucial’s DRAM product marketing manager, in a release.
The Ballistix Tracer PC2-8500 1 GB modules are priced at $227.99 while the Ballistix 1 GB modules run $231.99; 2 GB kits are available for both.
