Reading about complicated subjects can get a little dry, especially when diagrams and textbook explanations leave you scratching your head. Google wants to make that experience more fun and engaging with Immersive Explorations, a new Gemini feature that turns complex topics into interactive visual experiences. You can explore everything from ancient trade routes to jet engines, uncovering details layer by layer.

Dive into new topics with immersive explorations in Gemini.

Whether it’s tracing trade routes on the Silk Road, peering inside a jet engine, or studying the physics of lightning, each scene unfolds into interactive layers with guided explanations that let you dig even deeper.

How do Gemini’s Immersive Explorations work?

Immersive Explorations in Gemini lets you explore a subject through layered visual explanations. Tapping different parts reveals more information, taking you from big-picture concepts to smaller details involving molecules and atoms.

Google’s early topics give you a good sense of the range here, letting you trace old Silk Road trade routes, peek inside a jet engine, or break down the physics behind lightning. The feature is designed to make learning feel more hands-on, whether you’re curious about science, history, or how everyday things work.

Google plans to bring Immersive Explorations directly into Gemini conversations, making it easier to jump into an interactive lesson while chatting with the AI. Audio narration is also on the way to help guide you through each layer, which would make your exploration journey more engaging.

How to try Google’s new learning feature?

You can find Immersive Explorations through the Gemini Student Hub by selecting “Try immersive explorations.” You can also visit the Immersive Explorations library directly.

Google says the feature is available on the web and mobile, with support for English, Indonesian, Hindi, Brazilian Portuguese, French, and Simplified Chinese. Other languages currently receive an English-only experience, but more language support is planned down the road.

Immersive Explorations is now available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts. There are no special admin settings tied to this feature, so if your organization already has Gemini turned on, you are good to go.
