For those who find themselves using their laptops away from home a little less often than expected, LapWorks introduced two new laptop stands on Tuesday to keep desktop-bound portables cool and comfortable for users. The Attache and Envoy use similar designs to elevate notebook screens and pump hot air away from them.
Both stands feature a concave surface for the laptop to sit on, which allows air to circulate underneath with the aid of two USB-powered fans. While both units are constructed from ABS plastic, the pricier Attache gains an aluminum faceplate intended to help dissipate heat quicker. The stands have four different elevation settings along with four USB 2.0 ports to act as a hub.
“Raising a laptop’s screen closer to eye level keeps you from craning your neck to see it, reducing strain on upper body and neck,” said Jose Calero, LapWorks’ president, in a statement. “Angling the keyboard also allows arms and elbows to hang relaxed at your side, for more ergonomically comfortable typing than when set flat on a desk.”
Both stands are available immediately through LapWorks’ online store. The Attache sells for $69.95, while the Envoy goes for $49.95.
