Launchcast Moves To CBS Radio

Launchcast Moves To CBS Radio

Yahoo is transferring control of Launchcast, its Internet radio service, to CBS Radio next year as the Internet portal refocuses its business and trims away all the unnecessary operations.

However, it might well be a good thing for many listeners and potential listeners, according to Vnunet. As Yahoo discontinues its player, CBS Radio will introduce its own, branded one that will support both Firefox and Safari browsers, rather than just Internet Explorer, as has been the case with Yahoo.

There are around 150 radio stations on Launchcast. Adding these to the CBS stable will mean CBS Radio will be able to offer webcasts of approximately 300 stations.

CBS Radio digital media and integrated marketing president David Goodman said:

"Launchcast Radio stations have grown a sizeable and loyal following and we’re thrilled to expose them to an ever greater depth of content offerings. Partnering with Yahoo ensures advertisers will be able to reach the greatest possible audience as we leverage our local and national sales force, as well as TargetSpot, to create distinctive campaigns and one of a kind integrated opportunities."

Apple just made a huge move to power up your next MacBook
The screen of the MacBook Air M2.

Your next iPhone or Mac could have a major advantage over rival devices, with performance and efficiency that nothing else can match, if a new report is to be believed. It claims Apple has gobbled up the entire supply of a new breed of superefficient chips.

Those chips are manufactured by a company called TSMC that has made Apple’s powerful mobile and computer chips for years. If correct, the report from DigiTimes (via MacRumors) implies Apple’s competitors -- whether they’re making Windows PCs or Android smartphones -- will have to wait their turn while Apple has its fun with the brand-new 3-nanometer chips.

Asus’ latest move might save your RTX 4090 from melting
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 is shown along with a hand holding the power cable adapter.

Asus recently announced that people can request a free, 16-pin graphics power cable to provide more peace of mind for owners of an issue-plagued Nvidia card. With only a single mention of the 40-series, it's immediately apparent that this is being offered as a possible solution to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 card's melting connector problem.

Before reaching out to Asus for your free cable, it's important to note that only owners of the 750-watt or greater power supplies qualify, including the first-generation Asus ROG Thor and Strix. You can request a free cable if you own one of these PSUs with an output of 750W or more. Asus posted the offer on social media sites such as Bilibili, as noted by Tom's Hardware.

Move over, 4K — Nvidia’s RTX 4090 introduces 13K gaming
RTX 4090.

Nvidia's beastly RTX 4090 has just managed to set a new record by running a game at 13K resolution. We don't just mean something along the lines of Tetris, either, but a modern and well-loved title -- Genshin Impact.

One brave RTX 4090 owner attempted to run the game at 13K. Despite the ultra-high resolution, the RTX 4090 made the game run at a surprisingly high frame rate, and there's video footage that proves it.
