Gaming laptops used to be these massive, chunky things that had terrible battery life and wouldn’t even be able to play the latest games without warming your whole house by a few degrees. Luckily, nowadays, you can get a thin and light gaming laptop that can handle the latest games with no issue if you’re willing to pay the price. If that’s the case, then we highly recommend the Legion 9i Gen 9, which we gave perfect marks on, and even has a solid $540 discount directly from Lenovo. That means you can grab one of the best gaming laptops for $3,300 instead of the usual $3,840.

Why you should buy the Lenovo Legion 9i Gen 9

While there are a lot of configurations for the Legion 9i Gen 9, we found one that almost exactly matches the one our lead reviewer, Jacob Roach, checked out in person. He felt that “It’s the first high-end laptop I’ve ever touched that truly feels worth its premium price point. It focuses on being a good laptop as much as it focuses on peak performance, and it exceeds on both fronts.” The review unit had an RTX 4090, but this configuration has an RTX 4080, which is also quite powerful and will easily let you handle most modern games without too much hassle.

Of course, you do get a next-level screen in the form of a 16-inch 3.2K resolution panel, with a very impressive 165Hz refresh rate, although, admittedly, even the RTX 4090 would have trouble hitting the maximum of both of those with ease, so you’ll likely have to make a couple of compromises. In terms of CPU, you get an Intel Core i9-14900HX, which is actually a generation newer and better than the one in the review unit, and is one of the most powerful on the market across the board. You also get a really excellent 32GB of RAM, and a slightly less excellent 1TB of storage, although you could always upgrade that later or supplement them with one of these external hard drive deals.

Overall, this configuration of the Legion 9i Gen 9 is probably one of the best gaming laptops you’re going to find, especially with the $500 discount from Lenovo. That said, if it’s still a bit too pricey for you and you’d like a few more options, check out these great gaming laptop deals.

We gave this Asus OLED laptop a four star review — it’s half off today
Asus Vivobook Pro 16X OLED sitting on a table top.

If you’re looking for a device we once described as a “powerful OLED laptop, done right,” you’re in luck. Among the many laptop deals happening at the moment, Amazon has reduced the price of the Asus VivoBook Pro 16X OLED laptop to $800 from $1,450. Yup, that’s very nearly 50% off with a huge $650 taken off the price. The laptop might be over two years old now, but it remains a great option, especially at this price. If you want to know more, we’re here to tell you all about it.

Why you should buy the Asus VivoBook Pro 16X OLED laptop
We reviewed the Asus VivoBook Pro 16X OLED laptop back in 2022, and the only real criticism we could come up with was its “boring design” and a “gimmicky” DialPad. Other than that, we loved that it “lasted over 16 hours on a single charge in our light web-browsing test” -- something which is impressive given its 16-inch OLED screen. As we’ve seen while analyzing OLED technology, the self-lit pixels that make the screen look so good use up a lot of power, which can be a problem for laptops. Not this one though. A sharper and better looking screen is great for watching movies on the move, but it’s also an all-round more pleasant experience while you work.
