Sometimes the ability to handle just about any kind of video connection is a selling point in a display, and to that end NEC has introduced the 23-inch MultiSync EA231WMi, feating VGA, DVI, and DisplayPort connectivity. Aimed at government, enterprise, and education users, the EA321WMi also features a two-step Eco Mode enabling users to save power enabling users to switch between two modes (as well as “off”) so they only consume the power they need while working. The EA231WMi also sports an ambient light sensor that adjust screen brightness according to ambient lighting conditions, and a 4-way ergonomic stand that enables users to adjust height as well as pivot, tilt, and swivel the display.
“Our innovative 23-inch product offers a variety of new technologies to our desktop line, bringing the best features available to our customers and achieving the highest standards for ergonomics and environmental friendliness,” said NEC Display Solutions product manager Lynn Gu, in a statement. “The EA231WMi is a ‘green display’ that utilizes several features for the user’s advantage, creating settings that lengthen the display’s life and working cohesively with any environment in which it is placed.”
The EA231WMi features a 1,920 by 1,080 pixel native resolution, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio (3,000:1 dynamic) and 270 cd/m&exp2; of brightness—the unit also features five preset configurations for optimized image quality, and down-firing integrated speakers and a headphone jack. The display is Energy Star 5.0 compliant, and features an integrated four-port USB 2.0 hub for easy peripheral management.
