Samsung Electronics has introduced five new LCD monitors in its SyncMaster seres designed to appeal to mainstream computer users—but that have specs that may even appeal to some gamers. The displays feature fast 5ms response times, surprisingly wide 8,000:1 contrast ratios, and price tags that won’t injure most checkbooks.
“By combining an ultra-high contrast ratio with a compact, ergonomic design, the BX and BWX series of monitors is an excellent choice for any commercial user who seeks superior image quality and a flexible viewing experience,” said Samsung America’s senior manager for display products Young Bae, in a statement. “These high-performance monitors are an appealing option for our channel partners looking to offer excellent specifications at a reasonable price.”
The displays range in size from 17 to 22 inches, with the widescreen “BWX” midels featuring a 16:10 aspect ratio. Each feature rounded edges, a slim 15mm bezel, a gloss finish, and “buttonless” controls for setting brightness, contrast, and other settings, along with support for DVI with HDCP. The displays also feature stands with adjustable height, rotation, and swivel features, and come with a three-year warranty.
The displays are available now, with the 17-inch SyncMaster 743BX giong for $239, the 19-inch SyncMaster 943BX gong for $279, the widescreen 19-inch SyncMaster 943BWX going fo $269, the 20-inch Syncaster 2043BWX going for $309, and the 22-inch SyncMaster 2243BWX going for $359.
