Storage, peripheral, and media player maker SanDisk has rolled out a new edition of its ImageMate desktop memory card readers and writers that hook up to a PC via USB. The new editions feature faster data transfer dates—up to 34 MB/s—and offer a sleeker design with a detachable tripod base.
“The new SanDisk ImageMate readers are two of the fastest and most reliable USB readers, capable of transferring one gigabyte of data in less than 35 seconds,” said SanDisk senior marketing manager Jennifer Lee, in a statement. “The ImageMate readers’ space-saving vertical design makes them unobtrusive on your desk, but with such stylish looks they can’t help but stand out.”
The ImageMate All-In-One Reader supports “virtually” every memory card format on the market—inluding SD, SDHC, miniSDHC, microSDHC, MMC, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro Duo, xD, CompactFlash, and others—and users can insert multiple memory cards at the same time to perform card-to-card transfers. Each slow on the All-in-One reader has a blue LED to users know when the cards are in use. If you don’t need multiple slots, the smaller ImageMate Multi-Card reader supports xD, Memory Stick, SD, SDHC, and MMC cards and lets users both read and write data one card at a time.
The ImageMate All-In-One Reader is priced at $29.99, while the Multi-Card Reader goes for $19.99. They should be available now from North American retailers.
