Windows 7 Beta Download Ends

Microsoft has announced that yesterday was the final day to start downloading the beta of its new Windows 7 OS. However, anyone who’d begun the download prior to that date has until the 12th to finish, and those who’ve downloaded but haven’t yet obtained a product key will be able to obtain one past that date.

There’s no word on exactly how many people have downloaded the beta, but the demand was so high on the first weekend it was available that it brought servers to a halt, and Microsoft ended up extending the availability period for the download.

Microsoft has confirmed that it is going on holiday break for Windows 11 updates, indicating that any major software features won’t be released until January 2025.

The company rolled out its latest software update, OS Build 26100.2314 on November 12, and it largely addressed security issues. It also detailed that there won’t be any preview updates released in December 2024, outside of monthly security releases.

Nvidia’s RTX 40-series is coming to an end

Out with the old, in with the new. According to Board Channels, Nvidia has now halted production for nearly all of its best graphics cards as it shifts focus to the RTX 50-series. Only one GPU remains in production, and some of the cards that are the most in demand are no longer being produced.
