Meet Elvie, the video game for your lady bits

While traditional personal trainers rarely elicit feelings of great passion or excitement, there’s a new guy in town who just may change the game. Well, not a “guy,” per se, but rather a smart kegel tracker that is being described as “your most personal trainer.” Ladies, for $199, you can own the Elvie, a pebble-shaped pod that links to its associated app and gives you real-time feedback on the strength, endurance, and control of your most important body part. Better yet, Elvie can actually guide women through efficient and effective five-minute workouts for your pelvic floor in beginner, intermediate, and expert levels. The results? “Better core strength, control, and yes, even better sex.”

Pelvic floor problems affect one out of every three women, and 50 percent of women suffer from associated lower back issues, but Elvie promises that with its discreet device, the ladies of the world can work on regaining the core strength that is crucial to overall health and well-being. Comprising two components, “a small, pebble-shaped pod that you place inside just like a tampon, and the exercise app,” Elvie boasts a battery life of two months, and actually charges in its case for an added layer of discretion. With two sizes to choose from, Elvie’s makers are confident that buyers will be as satisfied with the product as the more than 100 women who were part of the device’s initial tests. And for the record, the Elvie team claims that 91 percent of them found exercising with the product beneficial.

Elvie’s customer testimonials certainly speak to an impressive number of very satisfied female customers, with one woman noting, “I love the fact that there is nothing else like Elvie currently on the market, especially the real-time app. The design is very feminine and it’s really easy to use. I can throw it in my bag and use it anytime which is great for a working mother with little time.” Another notes, “Elvie is comfortable and very easy to use, it’s also easy to clean with just soap and water. Elvie has shown me the importance of caring for my body in a way I should have done years ago. The Elvie app is motivating as it allows me to monitor my progress and the Elvie can be used for as little as just five minutes per day!”

Of course, when dealing with such an intimate part of the human anatomy, the Elvie team (British women’s tech company, Chiaro) went to great lengths to ensure the safety of the product. “Each product goes through rigorous safety testing including stamp, drop, tumble, water, irritation, and heat,” Elvie notes on its FAQ. “The product is 100 percent waterproof with no exposed parts, and manufactured by the same people who make Jawbone, Apple, and Beats products.”

So lady friends, if you’re looking for a high-tech device, Elvie just may be the product for you. Who knows, you may be one of the many women saying, “Thanks to Elvie, I have greater awareness of my intimate health needs. Seeing my progress via the biofeedback on the Elvie app means that exercising my pelvic floor muscle is no longer a chore. Comfortable, discreet, and with the promise of a better sex life … Elvie hits the spot!”

Ring app halloween settings.

The folks at Ring have unloaded a volley of video doorbell customizations to mark the impending arrival of Halloween. You can now kit out your front doorbell with new faceplates, quick replies, and chimes perfect for the spooky season.

New quick replies help inject some personality into the automated responses to someone at the door. Lines like, "Tell us what brings you here ... or we'll put a spell on you!" can be shouted when you can't answer yourself. Others include, "Boo! Leave us a message if you dare [evil laugh]," "Just a minute! Feel free to park your broom," and "Please leave the package (and any hocus pocus) outside." Quick replies can be seen as a kind of smart answering machine, whereby visitors can interact with the prompts and leave messages relevant to the quick reply you set. They're pretty easy to set up, too.
