Peripheral and accessories maker iLuv has announced its forthcoming iSP200 speaker system, billing it as a 2.1 speaker solution for desktop and laptop computers. The company says the product has already been named a CES 2009 "Innovations Design and Engineering Award Honoree"…while might just have to tide potential customers over for a while, since it’s not due to ship until June 2009.
The iSP200 features two detachable speakers an an integrated subwoofer, 32 watts RMS of amplification (which should put it head and shoulders above most competing solutions), and integrated SRS-XT technology for a more immersive sound. Users can push audio into the unit using an integrated USB hub with three USB 2.0 ports or a 3.5mm audio jack. The unit will also feature bass, treble, and master volume controls, and the speakers are magnetically shielded so they shouldn’t interfere with other devices.
iLuv plans to put the iSP200 on sale in June 2009 for $99.99 via its Web site.
