At just a tad bit thicker than Apple’s iPod nano, the iRiver E10 uses a Shockwave Flash GUI, has an intuitive menu system, supports several audio codes, plays games, and even doubles as a remotecontrol for your television. The only problem is that it will most likely not hit U.S. shores, at least not until the iRiver Clix is finished with the spotlight. In a brief e-mail conversationwith iRiver’s Jonathan Sasse we were told: “The E10 is essentially a second generation H10 device, borrowing some of the interface elements of the U10 product line, including the iriver clix.We will continue to build on the clix platform here in the US as we look to expand upon the recent 2GB rollout.” “It is unlikely that the e10 will make it to the US market, but that is alwayssomething we are evaluating, given the recent successful launch of the iriver clix in the US, we are looking to leverage the design and exceptional usability of that device and platform for futuredevice launches in the US market.” What’s our take? Wait for the Clix push to cool down a little and then expect to look for the E10 to hit the states. So far the reviews have been positive, and consumer interest is there. We are definately excited to see this player come to our store shelves. Until then, you can pick up the iRiver E10from importers like Warehouse123.com. A 6GB version costs $279.00 which really isn’t that bad. But we would expect the priceto be lower than $250 if it wants to succeed in the U.S. market.
