CES 2023: Intel’s new 13th-gen CPUs are faster, cheaper, and more efficient

Intel is greatly expanding its Raptor Lake desktop processor lineup. As announced during CES 2023, the CPU range will receive some new entries, and these upcoming processors prioritize efficiency by zoning in on performance-per-watt.

The list of upcoming processors is huge, including models ranging from the high-end Core i9-13900 to the budget Core i3-13100F. There are six T-series models coming up too. Here's everything that Intel is preparing for desktop users.

Apple just had its blow-out iPhone event in September, where it launched the new iPhone 14 lineup, the second-gen AirPods Pro, the Apple Watch Ultra, and more.

But Apple is far from done for the year. One last product launch is rumored for 2022, and we'll see the emphasis shift to more powerful devices such as Macs and iPads. Here's everything we're expecting from this rumored event so far.

Intel could give us Wi-Fi 7 devices long before Apple gets around to it

Wi-Fi 7 may not exist in devices today, but that isn't stopping Intel from forging ahead with it. Intel is planning to introduce Wi-Fi 7 sometime in 2024 just as Apple turns to Wi-Fi 6E for its upcoming devices. Intel will be doubling down on Wi-Fi 7 development efforts over the coming year, according to Eric McLaughlin, Intel's vice-president of wireless solutions.

"We are currently developing Intel's Wi-Fi '802.11be' in order to obtain the 'Wi-Fi Alliance' certification, and it will be installed in PC products such as laptops by 2024," McLaughlin said in a press conference earlier today. "We expect it to appear in major markets in 2025."
