How to choose a coffee machine

You’ll have no trouble finding fantastic buys among the best Cyber Week coffee machine deals still on sale at major retailers, but the greater issue in choosing from the best coffee makers to find one that fits both your needs and your budget. You can find a perfectly acceptable 8-to-12-cup basket brewer coffee machine for $20 to $50. In the next price bracket, between $50 and $200, you’ll find excellent machines with more control of brew sizes and strengths, such as the Ninja Coffee Bar. You can also spend far north of $1,000 on an elaborate machine that can create any coffee beverage you desire. If you start with your basic requirements and a fairly firm budget range, you should find exactly what you need to enjoy the benefits of coffee.

Single-serve coffee machines that use Keurig K-cups or Nespresso coffee drink capsules are extremely popular, but beware that most single-serve machines range from $50 to $200, even on sale. The best Keurig coffee makers appeal because of their fast and easy operation, an extensive selection of coffee brands and types, and minimal required cleanup. While you won’t spend as much per cup with a single-serve machine at home as you will buying coffee shop brews, keep in mind that single-serve coffee has a higher per-serving cost than basket-style or other types of multi-serve brewers. However, for many people, the prospect of a predictable brew and the reduction in leftover coffee at the end of the day make up for the slight bump in cost.

The best Nespresso machines let you get your barista on to create your favorite latte or other espresso or coffee drink. Nespresso licenses Breville and De’Longhi to sell Nespresso machines in the U.S. The two companies sell Nespresso models with identical features but different design details (you often can recognize a Breville Nespresso model because the front top of the machine, or the “brow,” curves down while the De’Longhi models have a flat brow). Amazon has an excellent continuing Cyber Week deal for the Nespresso Vertuo Next Coffee & Espresso Machine by Breville.

Are any coffee machine deals too good to be true?

The Cyber Week coffee machine deals are great, but be careful to check that the deal you choose is actually a good deal. In addition to the millions of excellent Cyber Week deals, retailers also use the opportunity to move leftover inventory from previous years. At times you can get the very best deal possible from an earlier model, but if you thought you were getting the latest and greatest it can be a disappointment. All advertised Cyber Week deals aren’t necessarily even the best price of the year. Resist the pressure of countdown timers and other urgent-purchase unless you’re totally sure about what you’re buying. There are often extra-special prices in fast deals, but every deal isn’t always a showstopper.

There are loads of great deals on coffee machines and you can let Digital Trends do the searching for you. We highlight the best deals and features of coffee machine deals above. We do the same type of shopping and deal filtering with the continued Cyber Week Instant Pot deals.

Home Depot’s “Build Your Own” Black Friday power tool deal is its best-kept secret
Home Depot consumer

Covering cordless power tools during Black Friday is surprisingly fascinating. Of the Black Friday deals I've covered so far this year, both Black Friday cordless drill deals and Black Friday power tool deals have been included included in my retinue, alongside a host of similar articles for our "brother" site The Manual.

There's one deal bundle among them all, however, that I've been utterly fascinated by this whole time. It's what I'm calling Home Depot's "build your own" power tool deal. This intriguing offering, which feels under advertised by Home Depot, seemingly inverts what we think of when we think of power tool deals. Instead of feeling stuck buying buying batteries separately — with a drill, with a big bundle, or with the lucky random battery — you're able (now) to build our deal and get everything you need, at a flat price. This means you can get the exact tool you want, and all the batteries you want with it, for as low as $99. Check it out yourself by tapping the button below, or keep reading to see what makes this deal so unique, how to shop it, and a few suggestions as to what you should buy.

I used CamelCamelCamel to check if these are the best deal prices for Black Friday (they are)
CamelCamelCamel in the desert giving you a smug unsatisfied look.

You may or may not know this, but certain online retailers and various small brands will actually increase prices before a huge sale, like early Black Friday sales, actual Black Friday, or even Cyber Monday and Cyber Week. Let's say, for example, they discount the product by $20. Weeks before, they might raise the price by $30 to make the discount look bigger. So, the reality is you're not actually getting a great deal -- they trick you. There is a way to combat this and find the best early Black Friday deals and beyond. There's a tool I use called CamelCamelCamel, which works wonders to help you find the real deals and steals. Well, anyway, I used the tool to find the best deal prices for Black Friday, and the holiday discounts. Let's take a closer look at some of those deals. Spoiler: They're so, so good.
