TomTom personalizes GPS units via custom case printing

Think custom case designs and pain jobs are purely the realm of high-end PC gaming rigs and notebooks? Think again: GPS maker TomTom has announced a new program that enables customers to have their GPS unit cases printed with custom artwork or photos, adding a unique touch. Dubbed My Custom TomTom, Users will be able to select from hundreds of pre-designed professional graphics, or use photos or custom artwork they’ve created themselves in order to help their GPS stand out from the crowd.

“As TomTom continues to deliver industry-leading navigation solutions, we are excited to introduce a program that gives our drivers more personalization options,” said TomTom senior VP of market development Tom Murray, in a statement. “Arriving just in time for the holidays, devices personalized with My Custom TomTom GPS are the perfect addition to any holiday list.”

My Custom TomTom customization will be available only through TomTom.com on selected GPS models. Printing is being handled by CafePress—the same company that’s made a thriving business on custom t-shirts, mugs, and mousepads. And TomTom wants folks to know that custom celebrity voices can be added to any order—including Snoop Dog and Star Wars voices.
