Blade: everything we know so far

We’re in the golden age of superhero video games with the likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and an upcoming Wolverine game, but even some lower-profile heroes are starting to get some love. The vampire hunter Blade is one of the next Marvel characters to get the spotlight, and the game will be brought to us by none other than Arkane Lyon. Known for the Dishonored series and the recent hit Deathloop, this team has the potential to give us a very different style of game that suits the character perfectly. Time to sharpen your teeth, don your coat and glasses, and stalk the streets of Paris for all the details on the upcoming Blade.

Release date speculation

It will probably be a while before Blade sees the light of day. Not only was there no date or even window given, but Studio director Dinga Bakaba posted the following on X (formerly Twitter): “We’re going to stay silent for a while …” Expect to wait until at least 2025 for this one, if not longer.

Despite no platforms being confirmed in any marketing material thus far, we know that developer Arkane Lyon is under Bethesda, and thus Xbox Games Studios, which at least heavily implies that it will be an Xbox console exclusive. A PC version is almost certain as well, but PlayStation players are more than likely going to be left out of the vampire-killing fun.

Marvel’s Blade | Announcement Trailer | The Game Awards 2023

The reveal trailer for Blade was a surprise announcement at The Game Awards 2023. It sets the scene in Paris, where Blade is relaxing while getting a shave during a lockdown. When the siren goes off, he suits up with his glasses, knives, guns, grenades, and, most importantly, his sword. The teaser ends with Blade remarking, “the night’s just getting started.”

The reveal was purely cinematic, but once again, Bakaba shared some more info on the development of Blade. According to him, Blade will be a “single-player immersive sim hybrid with all the shit we love!” The trailer showed it will take place in Paris, but we also know it will be a third-person game, which will be a first for the studio. The immersive sim component suggests an open world, or at least a large hub world, which we will be able to explore however we choose. We can reasonably predict to use Blade’s iconic sword, plus various firearms and other vampire-slaying tools, but until gameplay is officially shown, it is pure speculation.

Marathon: everything we know so far

A planet floats in the sky in Marathon.

After saying goodbye to the incredible Halo franchise, developer Bungie moved on to break new ground in the live-service space with two Destiny titles (and there's a mobile installment in Destiny: Rising on the way). It has been supporting these two games for nearly a decade now, but we have finally seen what else has been in the works.

To the surprise of many, it is actually a return to the studio's earliest franchise, Marathon. Those original titles were made in the same style as the original Doom games, but this new reboot of sorts is going in a very different direction. And don't forget, Bungie has proven that they're the masters of sci-fi shooters, so let's go the distance and cover everything we know about Marathon.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3: everything we know so far

After the dramatic climax in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, fans of the Final Fantasy series have been theory-crafting and speculating on how the eventual third game would conclude this epic story. Square Enix hasn't given us a date or title for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 yet to give it a proper entry on our list of all upcoming video games, but that hasn't stopped it from already becoming one of our most anticipated upcoming PlayStation 5 games along with Monster Hunter: Wilds and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. More and more information is starting to appear about what the last leg in Cloud's adventure will look like, so let's equip our best materia and scan the internet for everything there is to know about Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3.

Odds are this game won't be on Xbox (at least at launch), but there are still plenty of great upcoming Xbox Series X games to look forward to.

Avatar: The Last Airbender RPG: everything we know so far

There have been several games based on the hit Nickelodeon show Avatar: The Last Airbender, but never one that managed to live up to the source material's legacy. After The Legend of Korra in 2014, we haven't had any new games that let us experience the world of elemental bending. That's all about to change now that Paramount Games and Saber Interactive have announced that a new Avatar AAA RPG is in the works. We've mastered all four elements to bring you as much information about this new chapter in the Avatar saga as possible.
Release date speculation
This new Avatar: The Last Airbender game is so early in development that we don't even know what its official title is yet. All we know is that the game is in its very early stages and is poised to be "the biggest video game in franchise history." If this will indeed be a AAA game, we could be waiting four or more years for this game to come to fruition. We'll keep you updated on the timeline as we get more information.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Nickelodeon

No platforms were confirmed for this new Avatar game. Saber Interactive typically releases all its games on every platform, so we would assume it will come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC, and perhaps even whatever the Switch 2 ends up being.
