Crysis Warhead Coming In September

Electronic Arts and Crytek GmbH have announced that the latest installment in the fast-paced shoot-em-up Crysis universe, Crysis Warhead will begin shipping in September for Windows PCs—and discount pre-ordering is available now for folks who have to get in on the action as soon as possible. Crysis Warhead will go on sale in Europe September 12 and in North America on September 16; players who pre-order starting today can pick up the game for $24.95 ($5 off the retail price), or for another $10, get both Crysis and Crysis Warhead purchased together. (Although note that Crysis Warhead does not require Crysis to play.)

"Fans of Crysis are going to enjoy more of the open-ended gameplay, cutting-edge visuals and huge, epic battles from the first game," said Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli in a statement, "while also finally finding out what kind of havoc Psycho was wreaking on the other side of the island."

Crysis Warhead also includes Crysis Wars, which adds TeamInstantaction to the InstantAction and PowerStruggle to the online gameplay modes from the original Crysis game. Crysis Warhead has also been optimized to run on a broader range of PCs—although we’re sure pimping your rig still helps a lot—and includes 21 new maps.

Crysis Warhead has been rated M for "Mature" by the ESRB.

Disney Tron: Catalyst is the latest project from Bithell Games, wich previously released the excellent Tron: Identity in 2023. Catalyst is a continuation of that story, but an entirely different kind of game. While Identity was a visual novel detective story, Catalyst is a more traditional action-adventure game with combat that brings Hades to mind.

A movie filmed entirely in Grand Theft Auto Online is coming to theaters
Five characters hanging out in GTA Online, with one hopping off a limo.

You were probably bored during Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, but were you "film an entire documentary in Grand Theft Auto Online" bored? Grand Theft Hamlet is just that sort of project, and after winning the documentary feature jury award at SXSW this year, it's going to get a theatrical and streaming release.

As reported in The Hollywood Reporter, independent and art house streaming service Mubi has acquired the rights to distribute Grand Theft Hamlet, a documentary that follows two actors who want to stage a production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet in GTA Online's world. If the clip below is any indication, they run into some issues, as is expected for a game where provoking violence against others is part of the fun.
