Klei Entertainment’s wilderness survival sim Don’t Starve returns to the PlayStation 4 next month with a new digital bundle that collects all of the game’s add-on content released to date.

September will also mark the launch of Don’t Starve Together, a stand-alone expansion that introduces a local split-screen co-op mode and cross-platform online multiplayer that supports up to six players.

Don’t Starve, originally released for PCs in 2013, drops players in the midst of a harsh wilderness setting with little in the way of supplies or equipment. Players must avoid predatory creatures as they seek shelter, forage for food, and hunt for materials that can be crafted into weapons and other items that aid in survival.

The game’s first expansion, Don’t Starve: Reign of Giants, introduced new characters, environments, and craftable items, while the recent Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked features a new tropical setting and an expansive ocean for players to explore.

The upcoming Don’t Starve Mega Pack includes all content from the original version of Don’t Starve along with material from the Reign of Giants and Shipwrecked expansions. The collection also offers up a pair of exclusive PS4 system themes, along with the new multiplayer add-on Don’t Starve Together. Klei Entertainment community manager Corey Rollins notes that multiplayer is a long-requested feature among the game’s devoted fan base.

“We loved hearing stories about friends and families finding creative ways to share the controller while playing the original single-player Don’t Starve,” Rollins said. “Now players will be able to survive together on the same couch, and even take their split-screen game online if they want and create or join an existing game to play with others.”

Players who already own the original Don’t Starve on the PlayStation 4 can pick up the Don’t Starve Mega Pack for 60 percent off of its $27 launch price. Don’t Starve Together and the Don’t Starve Mega Pack will launch digitally via the PlayStation Network on September 13.

It's not uncommon for a retro game for kids to catch on with older and more modern audiences. There are a ton of Disney games like The Lion King that have stood the test of time. This week, an unexpected entry has joined those ranks. Piglet's Big Game, a 2003 video game tie-in with Piglet's Big Movie that released on the PlayStation 2, PC, and GameCube, has gone viral, with some people calling it their new favorite survival horror game. Yes, you read that correctly.

The game started gaining traction with an X post from user Jaxonloid, who was shocked that there seemed to be clear horror game music on the soundtrack.
