The first thing you need to do to catch a Legendary fish is to get your hands on a Pro fishing rod. These rods do spawn throughout the world, but they’re rare. We’ve had luck finding Pro fishing rods in Craggy Cliffs, so you should drop there as soon as the match starts to begin your hunt. To find a Pro fishing rod, you’ll want to look inside the barrels found throughout this area and with some luck, you might find one that has what you’re looking for. The barrels will always spawn regular fishing rods and are all located inside the buildings at Craggy Cliffs.

If you’re unlucky, you won’t come across a Pro fishing rod, but that isn’t as bad as it seems. You can upgrade a regular fishing rod to the Pro version at the upgrade station on the north side of Craggy Cliffs. As you search the buildings for the Pro fishing rod, make sure you’re smashing all the walls and floors to gather materials, just in case you do have to use the upgrade station, instead. You’ll need 100 each of wood, stone, and metal in order to upgrade your fishing rod.

However you get your hands on the Pro fishing rod, run over to the beach to the north to begin fishing.

Now that you know how to get your hands on the Pro fishing rod, you’ll be ready to start fishing! You can fish at many locations around the map, but the closest is the beach at Craggy Cliffs (assuming that’s where you landed). Stand right by the water and cast your rod into the ocean, making sure it lands within the groups of fish that can be found swimming nearby. With your rod in the water, wait for the sound of a splash (and controller vibration) before reeling your line back in.

Keep in mind, the Legendary fish have a low drop rate and can take a while to appear. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything you can do to increase the spawn rate, so keep at it until you finally catch one. Here’s a video of us making the catch, with very little time to spare before the gas engulfed us.

You’ll know you’ve got the right fish if it has an orange label with five stars — indicating that it is, in fact, Legendary. We caught a Thermal Fish, which has some interesting side effects when consumed. The last step after you catch the fish is to consume it, so pick it up and chow down! Once you do, you’ll complete the challenge and gain 25,000 XP.

Keep in mind, you can attempt this at other locations — we just prefer Craggy Cliffs because it has everything you need to complete the challenge in one condensed area. As you play regularly, you might come across a Pro fishing rod and if you do, consider stopping by the water to go for the challenge. Otherwise, you’ll want to attempt it as we described above.

Fortnite’s overhauled battle pass system will make your life easier
The Device event in Fortnite Chapter 2

Fortnite players will see a big change to how they gain experience starting in December. Epic Games announced Monday that it's simplifying progress so that players can earn experience toward all three battle passes at once.

This battle pass for the battle royale portion already works like this: You can earn experience to progress through the battle pass track by playing in any Fortnite section. However, this wasn't the case with the Festival and Lego passes for Fortnite Festival and Lego Fortnite, respectively. That's changing after the current seasons and passes end later this year.

Fortnite is cutting down on item FOMO with new store change
The TMNT Fortnite skins. We have all four turtles in fighting poses in front of a purple background.

Fortnite practically runs on FOMO (fear of missing out). if you don't get the item you want in a battle pass, you'll most likely never get the chance again. So if you wanted to run around as Goku and missed when the excellent skin was available? Tough luck.

But that policy is changing soon. Developer Epic Games announced in a blog post that items could be made available in the Shop 18 months after their respective battle passes expired at the least. That includes alt styles, which might also come to the Shop, along with licensed outfits you may have missed out on. This also applies to items that may have been unlocked after a battle pass launch.

All Medallion locations in Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 3
Ringleader scarr on a car in Fortnite.

A new season of Fortnite means a new cast of bosses with unique items to obtain. This season, your reward for besting the new Mad Max-inspired bosses is Medallions. These items, which first appeared in Season 1, grant your character some of the best buffs in the game. Unlike previous seasons, this time there are only three new bosses, and thus three Medallions to find and equip during a match. The only way to get them is to locate the bosses and manage to take them down. We can't help you in the fight itself, but can at least show you where to go and what each Medallion does.
All Medallion locations

The three bosses this season are Ringmaster Scarr, The Machinist, and Megalo Don. Each one appears in a different POI on the map and drops a unique Medallion.
Ringmaster Scarr
Scarr is found in the Nitrodome near the center of the map toward the south. She drops the Ringmaster's Medallion, which grants you unlimited ammo and a minor damage boost.
The Mechanist
Down near the south coast and slightly east is the Redline Rig POI, which is The Mechanist's lair. His Medallion will allow your shield to regenerate over time.
Megalo Don
The big bad of the season, and the most difficult boss of the trio, is Megalo Don. You can find him in the Brutal Beachhed POI, which is the giant ship beached far to the south and west of Redline Rig. If you manage to take this boss down you can get his Medallion, which gives your character, and by extension your vehicle, infinite Nitro.
