Fortnite challenge guide: Destroy inflatable tubemen at gas stations

Fortnite season 5, week 12 is underway, giving you a new batch of challenges to complete. Once again, this week’s challenges come in waves, meaning you must complete the prerequisite in order to get to the next objective. One challenge you might be having trouble with requires you to destroy inflatable tubemen at gas stations. Before being able to attempt this one, you must complete the first two stages — which require you to deal damage within 15 seconds of gliding (best done in Team Rumble), and to visit Scenic Spot, Gorgeous Gorge, and Mount Kay.

Once you’ve done those first two challenges, you can begin stage 3 for destroying the tubemen. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find the tubemen and how to destroy them as easily as possible. Here’s how to destroy inflatable tubemen at gas stations in Fortnite.

Before getting to the point in which you’re slashing away at tubemen, you should be aware of the best way to go about completing this challenge. First, take note of the map above (courtesy of Fortnite.gg), which shows the locations of all the gas stations on the map. They all feature inflatable tubemen, which come in the form of llamas. Each gas station features two inflatable llamas, and you must destroy three to complete the challenge.

Since gas stations only feature two tubemen, you’ll need to visit two of them to complete this challenge. The other thing to mention is that once you destroy a tubeman, it’s gone for the remainder of the match. This means if an enemy player beats you to the gas station and takes out the tubemen before you, you’ll have to try a different location (or a different match).

Now that you’re aware of how the challenge works, we recommend starting up a Team Rumble match so you can easily respawn in the air after you get taken out. Head to one of the less populated areas like Catty Corner and make a beeline to the gas station. Take out both of them with your pickaxe if possible and then jump off a high surface to eliminate yourself. You’ll then spawn in the air, so glide to the northwest to Lazy Lake or to the south of Colossal Coliseum to reach the next gas station.

With a little luck, the tubemen will still be there, so destroy one more to complete the challenge and earn 20,000 XP. If for some reason you only destroy one or two tubemen in a match, don’t worry. Your progress carries over from match to match, so you’ll be able to start up another one to pick up where you left off.

Where to find Vendetta Flopper in Lego Fortnite
Characters fishing in LEGO Fortnite.

The fishing update to Lego Fortnite added, you guessed it, the ability to fish once you've made yourself a rod. Of course, since fish didn't exist in the game before this, an entire school of undersea life needed to be created. Every fish you can catch has a different benefit, from restoring a bunch of health when you eat it to giving you some kind of buff. The rarest and most useful fish is certainly the Vendetta Flopper, making it the most coveted catch in the game. While fishing is still heavily dependent on luck, you won't even have a chance at this fish unless you know where to cast your line.
Where to find the Vendetta Flopper

Before you even attempt to attempt this legendary catch, make sure you're ready with an Epic fishing rod and Epic Bait Bucket to give yourself the best chance at a rare catch. The nest step is to only cast into the glowing purple zones that indicate the presence of rare fish. Fishing in any other part of the water won't yield the Vendetta Flopper we're after.

Fortnite is coming back to iOS, but Epic Games still isn’t happy about it
Solid Snake aiming a pistol out of a box in Fortnite.

Fortnite is set to come back to iOS in Europe sometime in 2024. This will mark the first time a natively running version of Fortnite will be available on iOS since Apple removed the game from the App Store in 2020.

Apple did so at the time because Epic tried to use its own third-party payment system, kicking off a series of legal battles in an attempt to get Apple to open up its platform more. Although those legal battles have yielded mixed results for Epic, a newly passed Digital Markets Act in the European Union is forcing Apple to do things like "allow third parties to inter-operate with the gatekeeper’s own services in certain specific situations" and "allow their business users to promote their offer and conclude contracts with their customers outside the gatekeeper’s platform."
