Where to dance in front of birthday cakes in Fortnite

Believe it or not, Fortnite: Battle Royale is now two years old. Since the summer of 2017, the game has amassed an overwhelming player base and immense popularity. In honor of Fortnite’s second anniversary, the island in Battle Royale is covered in festive decorations as Epic Games hosts yet another birthday event where players can participate in new limited-time modes, birthday-themed challenges, and more. This is in addition to the overtime challenges also happening right now.

This challenge can take you a bit. You’ll have to find 10 different birthday cakes in total, and that requires you to visit various locations on the Battle Royale map. You not only have to visit and dance in front of 10 birthday cakes but they each must be in unique locations that you haven’t visited yet in a match.

We recommend that you do this in Team Rumble so you have more time to complete this challenge. We also suggest finding a vehicle as soon as you can or use the slipstream in the middle of the island so you can travel quickly between the areas.

Fortnite birthday cake location: Junk Junction

The first location we recommend you visit is Junk Junction. In the center of this named area, you will find a large birthday cake with numerous layers as seen in the screenshot above.

The next location of the next birthday cake is Pleasant Park. If you’re heading there from Junk Junction, you’ll want to travel southeast. When you get there, head to the center of the town and look for the pavilion north of the soccer field. You will find the next birthday cake on the western side of it.

Fortnite birthday cake location: Loot Lake

The third birthday cake can be found directly east of the second location towards Loot Lake. It’s electrified at the moment, alluding to the upcoming launch of season 10. The birthday cake you’re looking for can be found on the northern side of the lake. Look for a small hill made of rocks and the third birthday cake will be right on top of it.

Fortnite birthday cake location: Viking Village

This fourth birthday cake is going to be in the center of the Viking Village. Head southwest to the unnamed location atop the large mountain near Snobby Shores. When you land, build yourself a ramp or walk up the mountain, and head to the center of the village where you’ll find the next birthday cake.

Fortnite birthday cake location: Shifty Shafts

To get to this fifth location, travel slightly southeast from the Viking Village to Shifty Shafts. Once there, find the eastern gate and head inside. You will see the next birthday cake right at the entrance. With that done, we are now halfway finished with this challenge.

The final three locations are very close to one another and you will likely need to head into another match for these. Head to Lonely Lodge on the eastern side of the island, then travel to the middle of the forest area where there is a large rock. You will need to land there or build your way up to the top, and there you will find the birthday cake.

Fortnite birthday cake locations: Racetrack

The next birthday cake location is south from Lonely Lodge, in the desert. There you will find an unnamed location with a race track on the edge of the desert. Head to this racetrack and look for a little hill on the western side of the racetrack. Atop this tiny hill is the birthday cake.

The final birthday cake can be found south of the racetrack location. It isn’t actually in Paradise Palms but to the east of it. There is a small cliff overlooking the city on one side and the ocean on the other. Atop the cliff are some solar power panels and in between them is a birthday cake hidden from view. You’ll need to build a ramp to up to reach it.

Fortnite faces community backlash over the addition of bots in OG mode
Fortnite battle bus.

The recent launch of Fortnite OG shot the battle royale title back up the top of the charts, not that it ever really loosened the chokehold it has on the gaming community — and then the launch of the game's first-person mode further stoked the flames. One recent change is not as welcome, however. Fortnite recently shared a post on X detailing the addition of Duos mode, as well as "matchmaking improvements in all Fortnite OG playlists." That doesn't sound like a red flag ... until you read the comment section of the post.

Fortnite OG playlists just received bots, and players are taking that change about as well as they took the addition of No Build mode. In other words, it created a heck of a lot of controversy. The new bots aren't overly aggressive, and therein lies the issue: They present no challenge. Player complaints are that the bots move slowly, make decisions that get them killed, and much more, according to PCGamesN.

Fortnite is finally getting a first-person mode next week
Key art for Fortnite's new first person shooter mode Ballistic.

Fortnite Ballistic, the long-awaited first-person mode for Epic Games' hit battle royale shooter Fortnite, will finally come to the game on December 11.

Epic Games first teased a first-person Fortnite mode in March, but now we have a clearer idea of how it will play. Ballistic is a round-based 5v5 mode with no respawns, similar to competitive shooters like Valorant or Spectre Divide. A team of attackers fights to plant and detonate a Rift Point Device in certain spots on the map, while defenders fight to eliminate the other team before they can do the same. While attackers and defenders will swap their roles after six rounds, Ballistic matches are a best-of-seven affair across both ranked and unranked play.

Fortnite OG isn't exactly a new mode -- it's come and gone several times before. What makes today's rollout special is that Fortnite OG is here to stay, and it's news that has delighted a lot of fans. Players have flocked back to Fortnite to play the nostalgia-riddled modes they remember.

In fact, within a mere 20 minutes of release, Fortnite OG had more than 1 million concurrent players in regular Fortnite and another 270,000 in Zero Build, Polygon reports. For context, that's about 1,822 times the maximum number of players Concord saw. Fortnite has always been a force of nature, but it has recently seen a surge of gamers like never before. As of right now, as we write this story, the game has 3,383,844 players, with its all-time high peak -- yes, of any of the previous years -- coming just five days ago with a whopping 14 million concurrent players.
