Halo: Reach has decided to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day by releasing details on the upcoming DLC, “Defiant”. The map pack will feature three original multiplayer maps:
Unearthed: The first map shown is a mine and refinery that set the stage for this map. Unlike the others that are developed for competitive play against other players, the main focus of Unearthed is 4 player cooperative Firefight modes.
Condemned: This map is set in the Orbital Station Gamma, a space station circling Reach. The majority of the station has been destroyed during the invasion, but the areas that remain allow multi-tiered fighting that is amplified by lifts and gravity wells stationed around the map. Condemned supports 6-12 players and will support all the basic game types, including Team Slayer, Team Objective and Free for All.
Highlands: Highlands takes place in a remote training ground, deep in the forests of Reach. The area is huge, and vehicle control will play a major factor in victory and defeat. The fighting will also take place both outside and under the cover of a handful of buildings. The size of the map allows 8-16 players for Big Team Battle, and the familiar Team Slayer, Team Objective and free for all will also be present.
The “Defiant” map pack will also include 150 new achievement points. Although an exact date was not given, “Defiant” is due on Xbox Live sometime this March for 800 MS points. Check out the video below for a closer look at the upcoming maps.
