How to redeem codes on Steam

Jacob Roach / Digital Trends

Steam, and PC gaming in general, has become almost exclusively digital. Even if you can find a boxed copy of a PC game today, you're almost guaranteed to open it up and just find a code inside. That Steam code only needs to be entered once to give you access to the game, whether it comes from a boxed copy or more likely an online seller. If you're used to simply purchasing games with your Steam wallet funds or attached credit card to add it to your library directly, you may have no idea how to redeem a product on Steam. Not to worry — the process is as simple as can be.

How to get Ancient Seeds in Stardew Valley
A farm with crops in Stardew Valley on Android.

There are a lot of rare and hidden items in Stardew Valley, but one of the hardest to track down is the Ancient Seed. As the name would indicate, these seeds are needed to grow Ancient Fruit. This is part of a couple of bundles in the museum, can be used as a dye, and is a good gift for several villagers. Needless to say, this seed is quite valuable, but you won't find it on the shelves of Pierre's shop or the JojaMart. Getting your hands on Ancient Seeds is a little tricky, but we have a couple of methods you can use.
How to get Ancient Seeds
There are a few ways you can collect Ancient Seeds, but some are better than others.

The lowest chance to get Ancient Seeds is to put crops into the Seed Maker. This will give you a 0.5% chance that the seed you get out of it will be an Ancient Seed.

Asus ROG Ally vs. Steam Deck: here’s how they compare
Asus ROG Ally and Steam Deck sitting next to each other.

It's been over a year since I originally wrote my Asus ROG Ally Z1 Extreme review, and the device has changed drastically in that time. It's still a compelling device that easily beats the Steam Deck in raw performance, but a slew of strange updates has left the ROG Ally in a weird spot compared to the Steam Deck.

For those who don't have a handheld gaming PC, the ROG Ally still wins over the Steam Deck. However, as you can read in our Steam Deck review, Valve's handheld still continues to be a force in the evolving world of gaming handhelds despite its aging hardware.
It's all a matter of price

How I fixed the most annoying part of PC gaming
solving pc gamings launcher problem launchers featured 1

There are far too many launchers for PC gaming. Even with various failed attempted from game publishers, such as the Bethesda launcher, we have more storefronts, libraries, and third-party apps than ever on PC, all of them gunning to capture just a little bit of the magic Valve bottled up with Steam back in the early 2000s.

I'm sick of them, and I'm sure you are too. You can't uninstall all of your launchers if you want to play games you have on various storefronts, but you can unify your library in a single spot and minimize how much the various different launchers on PC pester you. Here's how I did it.
My preferred method: Steam
