BioShock Infinite Trailer

We knew that Irrational was working on a new game, and we knew that it would be announced this week, but the debut of BioShock: Infinite, due out at the end of 2012, still caught us by surprise.

BioShock: Infinite is a prequel to the games in Rapture. Set in the floating city of Columbia in 1912, the graphical focus seems to be on the early days of American expansionism. You play as a Booker DeWitt, a disgraced Pinkerton Detective Agency agent, and you are hired by a mysterious benefactor that is aware of the floating city of Columbia, to find and rescue a woman named Elizabeth, who was abducted as a girl.

BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter currently in development at Irrational Games, the studio behind the original BioShock (which sold over 4 million units worldwide). Set in 1912, BioShock Infinite introduces an entirely new narrative and gameplay experience that lifts players out of the familiar confines of Rapture and rockets them to Columbia, an immense city in the sky.

Former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt has been sent to rescue Elizabeth, a young woman imprisoned in Columbia since childhood. Booker develops a relationship with Elizabeth, augmenting his abilities with hers so the pair may escape from a city that is literally falling from the sky. DeWitt must learn to fight foes in high-speed Sky-Line battles, engage in combat both indoors and amongst the clouds, and harness the power of dozens of new weapons and abilities.

Who wouldn't want to be friends with a guy like Ichiban? The guy is a bundle of optimistic joy and positivity. Sure, you'll likely get into more than a couple of brawls with him, but that only strengthens your bond, right? That's how it works in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, anyway. There are many ways you can increase Ichiban's bond level with his various party members, and even other people on the street you bump into, but one of the easiest (although expensive) ways is to give them the perfect gift. Instead of grinding out your bond level through battles or slow conversations, why not buy your way into your friend's heart? The only tricky part is knowing each character well enough to tell what gift they will appreciate most and where you can snag it.

Each of the main party members in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has their own personality and style. You wouldn't get much love from Nanba by giving him some makeup or Adachi some flowers, after all. There's no wrong gift you can give technically since no matter what you give someone it will increase your Bond level, however, these objects raise it more than the others.

When Ichiban makes it over to Hawaii in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, he's about as broke as he can get. As you're searching high and low for any bits of cash you can find, you will also collect a ton of materials that become very handy when you're ready to start crafting and upgrading your team's weapons. However, when you're trying to max out or make the best of the best in the game, more precious recourses will be required that you won't find in a dumpster or random briefcase on the street. Rainbow Crystals are as rare as they sound, but only if you don't know where to look. Here's an easy way to snag these rare gems.
Where to get Rainbow Crystals

Like nearly all rare materials in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, there is always a small chance some enemies will drop one or two Rainbow Crystals if you grind long enough. Grinding for levels or cash is one thing, but when you have no idea what your chances are that a material will drop, it's unbearable. Instead, head over to RoboMichio and browse his wears. He will hand over Rainbow Crystals for 250 Robo Discs a pop, which isn't a bad exchange rate given how long it will take to collect that number in the dungeon.

The more high-level the gear you can make gets, the weirder the materials required to make it become in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Some of the top-level items will require things like shark fins and other oddities that make sense as to why they'd be so rare, but the empty cough drop tin sounds like something you would just grab out of a trash can on the street. But no matter how many dumpsters you dive in, you will never find one. You can waste a lot of time looking for this item before you even have the chance to get it, so save yourself the frustration and needless grinding by checking out how to actually get the empty cough drop tin.

If you see a weapon that requires an empty cough drop tin to be able to make it, you will need to wait until you get to at least Chapter 10 before you can reliably get it. During this chapter, you will be introduced to the Yokohama Underground Exchange. This is another randomized dungeon you can run through while collecting Geomijul's Survey Disks that you can exchange for various items with Utamaru. The empty cough drop tin is one item for sale, and will cost you 2,000 of these disks. That is a decent amount, so depending on your level, it could take two runs through the dungeon to grind it out.
