Is Roblox free?

Group of Roblox players exploring.
Roblox

It’s hard to overstate the massive appeal of Roblox. Millions of players from around the world are hooked on this creation tool that lets players experience thousands of games made by others, or start making games for themselves to share with the world. It has evolved beyond being just a game and into a platform rivaling Fortnite. There are plenty of games out there that say they’re free only to push players to spend real money on in-game items or currencies. If you want to know if there’s a cost of entry to Roblox, or if you will need to spend any money once you’re playing, we can break it all down for you.

Is Roblox free?

Yes, downloading and playing Roblox won’t cost you a single cent. However, there is a special currency in the game you do need to pay for called Robux, which can be used in each experience to enhance your character’s avatar or unlock special abilities. What you get and how much you will need to spend will vary from game to game. The cost of Robux, however, is always the same. You can buy them in packages on the Roblox site for the following rates:

400 Robux: $5

800 Robux: $10

1,700 Robux: $20

4,500 Robux: $50

10,000 Robux: $100

22,500 Robux: $200

You can also choose to subscribe to Roblox premium for either $5, $10, or $20 per month to get 450, 1,000, or 2,200 Robux every month, respectively, along with a few other perks.

Robux can also be won or earned by playing games, but typically in small amounts. You can also earn real money yourself in Roblox if you create a game and people spend Robux in it. Roblox will give creators a small cut of all the Robux spent in their games as real cash.

Luigi kicks a shell in Mario & Luigi: Brothership.

You will face many obstacles on your quest across the islands of Concordia in Mario & Luigi: Brothership, in the form of classic turn-based battles and exploration. However, like every other Switch title, those who enjoy hunting for Trophies or Achievements won't find them here. These are difficult tasks that are completely optional but reward you with some very precious upgrade materials that are worth the effort. These will push you to use all the game's mechanics and tools. Most will be available from the start, but some only unlock later on so you can't complete them all at once. Do your dailies

We'll get the most obvious tip out of the way first. Daily challenges are back and work just as they always have. Every 24 hours you will be given a handful of small optional tasks to complete for a heap of bonus XP. These can be things like getting Scorestreak kills, getting Point Blank Kills, and getting kills with a specific weapon type. Most daily challenges are worth 2,500 XP, which is already a nice bonus, but there is also a fourth one that can be worth between 3,000 and 5,000 additional XP. Each day you log on, you should prioritize your daily challenges.

Is Monster Hunter Wilds cross-platform?
Two hunters ride mounts in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Of all the genres that we think need to be on the list of cross-platform games, hunting games like Monster Hunter Wilds have to be near the top. These are a rather unique style of game compared to the likes of Fallout 76, Genshin Impact, or Stardew Valley. Each of those has cooperative or competitive elements to them that are enhanced by cross-platform support, but nothing like what Monster Hunter Wilds has going on. The game will allow you to call in NPCs to help you on the hunt, but these games are best when you get a group of real friends together and embark on an epic quest to slay a giant beast, scavenge it for parts, and return to camp victorious. Monster Hunter Rise eventually got cross-platform support once it was ported off the Switch, but will Monster Hunter Wilds launch with this feature? Here's what you need to know about cross-platform support in one of our most anticipated upcoming games.
Is Monster Hunter Wilds cross-platform?

Monster Hunter Wilds will only have partial cross-platform support. The good news is that the part that it will have is crossplay, meaning that you and friends on either PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC can all hunt together with no issues. This feature can be disabled if you wish, but will be enabled by default to make sure desperate hunters can always find some aid when in need.
