Sony today announced the availability of a Lemmings game for the PlayStation Portable handheld gaming device. Lemmings is rated E” for “Everyone”/Descriptor: Mild Cartoon Violence by the Entertainment Software Rating Board.
Lemmings, said Sony, is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year and was developed by Team 17. The PSP version reportedly keeps true to the game’s original theme as players guide a group of little creatures from entrance point to exit point through various hazard-filled stages. The game has more than 150 levels, including 20 all-new maze-like puzzles exclusive for the PSP, and also features updated graphics, a new mix of music, and a level editor that allows players to build custom-created levels and share them online with others.
“Lemmings has been a successful franchise for the past 15 years and is ideal for gamers on-the-go to play anytime, anywhere with its quick-pace and challenging, yet satisfying levels,” said Susan Nourai, director, online and product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America, in a statement. “With classic gameplay and PlayStation Portable exclusive features, we expect Lemmings to appeal to a wide range of gamers, including those familiar with the franchise and those new to the game.”
