Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has nearly 200 unique camos to choose from in its multiplayer mode, but one, in particular, stands out above the rest — the gold camo. While there are now a few higher-ranking camos above gold (platinum, polyatomic, and Orion), the gold camo is a classic, easily identifiable on the battlefield, letting the enemy know that you've mastered your rifle of choice.

How to unlock gold camos in MW2

How to unlock the gold and higher camos isn't easy to understand at first glance, so we'll show you where to look.

Step 1: From the multiplayer home screen, select the Weapons tab on the top toolbar.

Step 2: Select Multiplayer loadout.

Step 3: Select one of your custom loadouts.

Step 4: Hover over your primary weapon and select Gunsmith.

Step 5: At the top of your screen, select Customize.

Step 6: Select Camo.

Step 7: Toward the left of the screen, you'll see a gray box with specific unlock options for the gun you've selected. There are four camos to the left with challenges attached to them. You must level up your weapon to unlock each camo challenge, then complete the listed challenge — these usually just require you to get a certain number of kills with the weapon or use it in a specific manner by getting hip-fire or ADS kills.

Xbox Game Pass is getting its first Call of Duty game
A soldier with a shotgun pointing to shoot in Modern Warfare 3.

Xbox isn't waiting until Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to get a Call of Duty game on Game Pass. The company announced Tuesday that 2023's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be added to the service on Wednesday, July 24.

The announcement was heavily rumored beforehand, with reports from outlets like Insider Gaming, but it was made official on Xbox Wire. Xbox confirmed that the game will be hitting Game Pass for Console, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate (so every old tier ahead of the upcoming price hike), and it will include most modes, including single-player and the more open-world Zombies mode. It doesn't appear to include Warzone, the series' battle royale spinoff, although that's free to play.

XDefiant finds a perfect middle ground between Call of Duty and Overwatch
Key art for the GSK faction for XDefiant.

When I first installed and started to play XDefiant, I didn’t think I’d like it. It looked like a random mishmash of Ubisoft IP. I didn’t think it would pull off the gameplay mix between hardcore military shooters like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and hero shooters like Overwatch 2. Thankfully, XDefiant proved me very wrong, and I’ve had a hard time putting the game down since I started playing it ahead of Season 1.

The aspects of XDefiant that I thought would be weaknesses ended up being its strengths. It provides the power fantasy of a hero shooter while also delivering the engaging mission types and intricate gunplay of a military shooter. Gameplay customization doesn’t just happen on a hero or weapon level, but both at the same time. Although certain areas of XDefiant’s presentation could be much better, it’s a fun celebration of the Ubisoft franchises featured.

How to play as Nicki Minaj in Call of Duty
Nicki Minaj shooting an assault rifle in Call of Duty.

After Fortnite unleashed a flood of crossovers into the gaming world, there's almost nothing that's off the table anymore. Call of Duty getting a Nicki Minaj operator, for example, would likely never have happened 10 years ago, and yet here we are. The rapper/singer is often called the Queen of Rap, but she's expanded her talents to dolphin-diving and no-scoping noobs on the battlefield. If you want to strut your stuff as Minaj in your next match, complete with her own set of pink weapons and vehicle skin, there are a few bits of information you need to know before loading up your next game.
Can you play as Nicki Minaj in Call of Duty?
Nicki Minaj was introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone on August 24, 2023, as part of Season 5 alongside Snoop Dogg and 21 Savage. They were all purchasable in the in-game store for 2,400 CoD Points. Minaj's bundle was titled the Tracer Pack and included her skin, blueprints for her battle rifle and shotgun, a finishing move, vehicle skin, weapon charm, loading screen, emblem, and sticker.

Unfortunately, the Tracer Pack bundle was completely removed from the store as of around six months ago. There's no firm reason as to why her skin was removed or if the developers intend to bring her back. While it is possible her skin will be put back into the shop, it is too hard to say if or when that will ever happen due to the unclear nature of why it was removed in the first place.
