Sure, you can see Mortal Kombat: Legacy online in its entirety any time you want, but if you’ve been pining to see the fan-made web series in high-definition, you’re in luck.
High-Def Digest reports that the nine-episode series will hit shelves on Blu-Ray this November, accompanied by an impressively long list of extras. The Blu-Ray will be released by Warner Premiere, and sell for $19.98.
Complete specs for the Blu-Ray haven’t been revealed yet, but the report suggests that along with all nine episodes of Mortal Kombat: Legacy, it will also feature “Mortal Kombat Legacy: Fights – A look at the role Fatalities and hyper-violence play in the Mortal Kombat storytelling process,” as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the fights and stunt choreography for the project.
There’s also mention of a feature on Legacy director and Mortal Kombat “superfan” Kevin Tancharoen, and documentaries exploring the mythology of the Mortal Kombat franchise, its weapons, and the powers wielded by characters.
Just in case you’re not up on all things Mortal Kombat, Tancharoen premiered his Mortal Kombat: Legacy series on YouTube in April to the tune of more than 13 million views for the first episode (posted below). The last episode was posted in July, bringing the series’ current tally to more than 45 million views overall.
The series explores the Mortal Kombat mythology and stars Michael Jai White, Darren Shahlavi, Jeri Ryan, and Tamoh Penniket, among other notable actors.
