Upcoming Japanese role-playing game Persona 5 is coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in the Americas in 2015, developer Atlus recently confirmed. It is the fifth main installment in the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series of video games, which is itself a subset of the larger Megami Tensei series. The game was already announced for Japanese release in 2013. Little is known about it beyond this cryptic teaser trailer, also just released:

The Persona games center around people with the ability to manifest discrete elements of their psyche as the eponymous Personas, summoning these entities to aid them in combat. The games also frequently feature a juxtaposition between everyday, modern life and a supernatural world of monsters and demons.

Since launching in 1996 on the original PlayStation, the franchise has spawned numerous games for consoles and handheld, along with multiple animes. Prior entries in the series have received spotty localization for Western audiences, but a growing and vocal fan base has meant that more recent releases have come stateside earlier. Most recently the dungeon crawling spin-off Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth came to Nintendo 3DS and the fighting game Persona 4 Arena Ultimax arrived on PS3 and Xbox 360.

The PS5’s DualSense controller just got a bit more expensive

If you're looking for a new DualSense controller, you'll have to leave a bit more room in your budget. It seems that Sony has raised the price of most of its DualSense models without an official announcement.

The changes were instead spotted by Wario64, a popular gaming account on X (formerly Twitter), which noticed that the DualSense price has gone up by $5 across multiple online retailers, including PlayStation Direct, Best Buy, and Target. PlayStation has not publicly confirmed the price hike, nor has it released a blog post about the reasons behind it as it has in the past.

Can Concord make a comeback? There’s still hope for PS5’s failed shooter

Only two weeks after launch, PlayStation made the shocking decision to shut down Concord. Firewalk Studios’ much-derided hero shooter had a disastrous launch, one that analysts estimated only 25,000 players picked up, according to IGN. In a PlayStation Blog post, game director Ryan Ellis was transparent about the fact that “aspects of the game and our initial launch didn’t land the way we’d intended” and that Firewalk will shut the game down on September 6 to “explore options, including those that will better reach our players.”

It’s possible that Concord will never return, or that it will become the video game industry’s next comeback story. I didn’t like what I played of Concord during its beta, but I understand that some players see the potential of this first-person shooter that found a middle ground between Destiny and Overwatch. There are steps Firewalk can take to give Concord a second chance at life, even if its fate is ultimately in the hands of players if it ever comes back.

Atlus almost ‘gave up’ on making Persona 3 Reload’s The Answer DLC

When Persona 3 Reload was announced, fans were both excited and anxious. Since the original Persona 3’s release in 2006, the RPG has received two iterations in the form of Persona 3 FES and Persona 3 Portable, both of which had separate exclusive content that wasn’t available in the other. The former had a playable epilogue called The Answer, while the latter added a female protagonist.

For years, fans have been clamoring for a definitive version of Persona 3 that included content from FES and Portable. Persona 3 Reload was the perfect chance for Atlus to do it. Atlus fulfilled part of the wish by remaking The Answer into Episode Aigis: The Answer for Reload.
