You might think Rockstar would be a little bit tired after the years-long gestation period for Grand Theft Auto IV, but as it turns out, everyone’s favorite controversial developer already has another GTA bun in the oven. At Nintendo’s E3 press conference, Nintendo reps announced GTA: Chinatown, which will bring a whole new storyline to Liberty City on the Nintendo DS.
Info on the storyline has been sparse, but then, that’s never been the main attraction for GTA games. According to Rockstar, Chinatown will require players to “uncover the truth behind an epic tale of crime and corruption within the Triad crime syndicate.” And hey, probably blow some stuff up along the way.
More interestingly, Rockstar promised that the title will make use of the DS’s touch screen, although with all the gunning and driving, we’re not quite sure how yet. As the first GTA title on the DS, it will also make use of a custom game engine specifically for the system.
The title, developed by Rockstar Leeds in conjunction with Rockstar North, will debut in North America and Europe this winter.
